Stereotypes are just a way that ignorant people classify those that they are afraid or jealous of. They're just childish names that they use that are just fucking retard.

Discrimiation is just stupid... Watch Dr. Phil's House special and you will see people who hate thin, fat, gay, straight, dumb, etc. and they have never met the person who they discriminate. It's not right but there is no way to stop this evil because it is so wide spread.

Stereotypes are not just a way for "ignorant people classify those that they are afraid or jealous of" (though can I just point out the irony that you just stereotyped people who stereotype!) they can be quite helpful.

Personally negitive stereotypes are the one I have a problem with; like the other day I wore a scarf as a hairband into school and now people are calling me a hippy, I don't mind that, hippys are sound.
Then there's this new girl in our year, who looks different, and she's alone most of the time and that's really sad because if she were thinner, and did her hair a certain way and wore her skirt at a slutty lenght she'd probably have loads of friends, but instead she's been stereotyped as being uncool and soical sucide to be see with.

I'm labled a "Loner" and a "Punk Poser" at my school. I can agree with the loner part because I kind of am I little bit but that's because nobody wants to ever hang out with me or anything. The punk poser part, I don't know where that came from.

Today in Latin Class our teacher asked us for the defnition to scrafice adn I said " givening up something for the Better good" and this kid Kevin says " Well what about if you were scaficing to a demon?" and I got into how well it's subjective and then he procides to mock me because I happen to be into demonolgy. then at the end of Class I was talking to my freind Rayan about it
and the Kevin kid say's " I like demonolgy" so I asked him what a Incubi is and he corrects me, by saying I used the plural from. and Then when were leaving he starts making fun of me again. Which is funny becuse this Douche bag had an issue with people shouting " fag" at him a week before.
And then there is the random kid that shouts " The Devil" at me in hall everytime he see's me.
Ok so I wear black, Ok so I read books on demonolgy, that does not give you the right to mock me, when you know nothing about me and call me Satan. because last time I check satan doesn't go to chruch or have a statue of the virgin mary in his room.

Stereotypes simultaneously infuriate me and amuse me immensely. I remember when I was 14, a guy in my class was convinced that I, who was apparantly, a 'scary goth' was going to 'burn his eyes out'.

I was wearing a Slipknot hoodie in the town and an old woman started talking, VERY loudly about youth and vandals. I mean, it wasn't like I was getting ready to go apeshit with a crowbar, I was there to watch the festival. Confused

The only people I can say I actively discrimate against is people who type 'liek dis!!11zomg' and can't be bothered to write in actual English, because it frustrates me so much. English is a language; use it, don't abuse it. And there's NO social group which do that more than anyone else.

I also heard a random kid yell 'get the gypo!!' at me this morning as I walked past. Confused Now, I don't know what that means, but if it helps I was wearing a leather jacket and a green and purple backpack.

'Goth' is one of the most misunderstood social groups in the world.
I can and am willing to bet that many of the people posting about 'goth' in this thread don't have full knowledge of this subculture.

Because people are stupid.
They see a kid dressed in black and they think "Goth!"
Which is why stereotyping without knowledge of that subculture is unfair.
I don't have issues with Goths. Hell, I respect everything they stand for and represent. I just wish people would know more about them before labelling every single spooky kid one.

The same thing with me. I know I dont look very decent and its seem that I dont take care of myself or whatever, but I am an A grade student. And Bloodraine I agree, people see someone wearing black and he is a goth to them.

arug. people say i'm emo because of what i wear. I dont do anything emoish but it's still my lable. If i agree to it I become a poser. I dont want to be a poser so i ingnore people.
Also people think that you are such a rebel when you dont do you homework assignments. I dont do my homework becasue i'm usually busy and it doent matter if i do it or not because I will ace the test.

home work (usually) is added to your final grade anyway
so yeah that great grade on your test won't mean anything if you don't do your homework

but i agree with what you said in your first or second statement, if you agree with what they label you - you automatically become a poser.
and i don't agree with that
