I started to get into them cuz some guy I liked liked them but then I got more into them once I saw their video for "In Bloom" and I really like their video and song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" But I do agree with some; they are sometimes way over rated.

I watched the the entire hour of something about Nirvana last night. I was babysitting and it was around 11 p.m.
Cobain was etiher a waste, or just too much of a genius...
I was listening to him talking, and though he looked rather insane, he had something to say. And it was understandable and true. About people's insanity, the world-machine. Though he was at a state where everything looked worse than it really seemed, part of that kinda sound true.
Anyways, I don't want to get in any further, cause I don't wanna loose your interest Razz...
Anyways, I never thought I'd like this band but I bought the Nirvana's Greatest hits that came out in 2002 with You Know You're Right on it and with what I learned last night, it's sure that if I don't really really like the songs, I have a wee bit more respect for that band...
For Krist and Dave, for Kurt...

What's got more brains than Kurt Cobain?
The wall behind him

I heard that the other day

But I think Nirvana are alright

I have an sense of humour, ask the people who know me-and i don't find that joke even remotely funny.
That's 'cause your dry, darling.

That's great. xD

To hell with that. It's just not funny.
It's fucking genius.

I just watched the 'Come As You Are' feature on Metal Hammer TV. It's pretty good. =]

i found it quite funny. i think people need to loosen up sometimes and take a joke lightly. it may seem like disrespect to mr. cobain but it's a joke. but who am i to talk, i hate nirvana =)

i think we should just stop with the mean jokes. it's a sensitive subject for me and the book i'm reading doesn't help. at all.

ah the lyrics. i guess they do have some lyrics that are in the good range. i just never understood how cobain was an icon. i'm not going to get into details about why i don't like them, but i must say, they're one of the most over-rated bands ever. people say they have amazing guitar and cobain sings really well...both of which are very untrue. but they have many fans, so nothing i say means anything here.

ok, i'm done quoting. but many people say he's an icon because nirvana had a sound that no one else did. their style of music was original when they first came out.

their style of 'grunge' music which happened in the 90's. but although grunge was somewhat popular with bands like nirvana and pearl jam, it obviously wasn't a good enough genre to win the ears of younger kids. the kids went to listen to backstreet boys and nsync during the 90's while grunge was born and died. kids these days have a lot of great music to listen to so that's why pop music isn't as popular anymore. i'm not dissing all grunge, but what nirvana started wasn't great.
