Launch Radio Networks reports: AVENGED SEVENFOLD is not coming off the road anytime soon, with its own North American tour underway, a European trip in June and a rumored Ozzfest stint this summer. But that doesn't mean the band isn't thinking about its next album. Guitarist Zacky Vengeance told Launch that the group has been playing around with some new songs and some surprising influences. "We always mess around," he said. "I have a few ideas and some riffs that I've just been jamming on. Everyone's always writing. We've been listening to all sorts of stuff right now, like, we've been listening to a lot of rap and stuff. People would probably flip out when they hear that, but they'd be amazed that some of the heaviest riffs on any of our albums, I've been inspired by bands like NWA or ELVIS COSTELLO."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD is co-headlining across North America with COHEED AND CAMBRIA. The tour pulls into Atlanta, Georgia tonight (Friday, April 14).

The AVENGED/COHEED tour, which also features opening act EIGHTEEN VISIONS, will run through May 20, when it closes in New York City.

"Beast And The Harlot" is the new single from AVENGED SEVENFOLD's "City of Evil" album, which has sold more than half a million copies.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD is widely expected to be announced on May 23 as the "mystery band" on the main stage of this summer's Ozzfest.

a little question, for back up vocals, who's voice do you prefer? zacky, rev, and syn's? or johnny's, who's voice has not made an appearance yet =P

although i love syn's voice, i must go with zacky's. his voice is more soothing and soft while syn's voice has an edge that can be a good or bad thing sometimes =P and rev's vocals are only for screaming which is enjoyable here or there.

you may not like a7x, but they don't suck. if they sucked so much, they wouldn't have sold over 500,000 copies of city of evil. over 500,000 people would have to disagree with you.
