Religious hatred legislation

You may already know this..........
..... but the UK government is proposing a new law......

..that would make the incitement of religious hatred illegal.

.................Offenders could get a maximum sentence of 7 years in jail.

At the minute, there is a blasphemy law......

....that protects Jews and Sikhs...... but this new law would cover all faiths
..............................including atheists.

That will be so hard... because at some point, everyone will probably break that law without meaning to. I mean, all the religions have something in them that would probably offend another faith anyway. Especially if it's including atheists...

An atheist is a person who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods.

Theist: Someone who does believe in God
Agnostic: Someone who believes there is a God, but isn't in a religion. Or someone that isn't sure.

I'm a Wiccan, but there's no fucking WAY these people (mentioning no names, just people at my school) are going to stop discriminating against me! Not a hope in fucking side! A lot of my friends are "devil worshippers". Are they going to stop being discriminated against? Are they HELL!! (No pun intended!)
That law is absolutly...well...I'm beyond words! How can the government THINK of that!! Freedom of speech is the most important thing. ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

^I agree. I also think these laws will do nothing, because they will be so easily broken. And could also be exploited, because it will be damn near impossible to prove.

I'm a Christian and think that a lot of athiests can be assholes about.....but so can religious people

well...yeah. some atheists can be assholes. some wiccans can be blasphemous to the point of offending their catholic friends. some of us have accepted that there are a lot of damn religions on the planet and most of them hate each other which makes us sad. aggression based on religion is pretty pointless. it doesnt get us anywhere in the long run.

I sometimes do that. I try my best not to, and say "No, I'm not getting into religion" but then they force me and I end up shouting and saying how witchcraft was there and then Christanity came along and changed everything. So many people wern't burnt and stuff. I get really passionate about it. I really don't mean to offend people, I honestly don't, but they always take what I say as offensive, even though it was them who forced me to state my opinion.
