I am doing a study on this for a Key Skills course and wondered what people thought of it.

I have found out that as uranium is a major impurity in coal, fossil fuel power stations release more radiation into the atmosphere than a properly run nuclear power plant....

Solar power, however, is unreliable. Or so i've been taught. You should consider that before totally condemning the use of Nuclear Power.

That's the problem...they are rarely run properly. Or it gets worse with time. We might just end up with nuclear though, solar power is really inreliable...But you never know, maybe they'll come up with something new.

Two Greenpeace activists climbed onto the rafters of a conference hall in Islington, where Blair was giving his speach, and unfurled a banner that read: "Nuclear: wrong answer."

nature is a nice way to get energy, but it doesn't give enough by long...you should see how many UGLY windmills they put here in Holland, just to get a bit of energy... :role:

I hope people will find something new because the nuclear thing... well I dont know enough of it to give a good opinion...I dont really trust it though

I like wind farms Very Happy
I don't think that they're an eyesore or anything like that that people argue against them.

But nuclear... I don't think it's that bad if we figure out what we can do with the waste, and if they're run safely. They produce less watse products than fossil fuels and they don't cause global warming or anything.
They are, however, expensive to decomission *has just done the energy section in sciene*

Up in Rochester, NY, an hour away from where paradoxical and I live in the D-Rock, everybody's bitching about how wind farms there will fuck up the landscape. No, we have NOT got the greatest high-school graduation rate in the state; why do you ask?

from what i heard on the radio, for wind farms to produce enough energy for the country they would need miles upon miles of land for wind farms. And knowing our goverment they would spoil areas of natural beauty. (like lake windermere)

i think that nuclear power sucks, the dudes that invented it should be killed, n if they r dead, their bodies should be burned. solar power n wind power n yeah, somewhat water power(if ther eis such a thing lol) ..r the only probable solutions for me...

Tony is a complete cretin to think that its the right energy source for Britain.

It WILL go wrong. He should take heed from all the problems before with nuclear energy. And when it does go wrong it takes years and years and shit loads of money to dismantel the plant. The area will never be the same. Its just royally stupid to even consider it.

It's such an unbelievably bad idea.

I say fuck the country bumpkins that will complain when wind farms get put up. Use renewable resources. Its not hard. We have enough money.

Put them out in the north sea. Problem solved.

Besides, the people that complain about wind farms, tidal barrages etc will be the ones complaining when our energy resources run out.

The thing with nuclear... if there wasn't such a risk with it it'd be absolutely fine.

And I still don't get what's wrong with wind farms. Me and my friends don't even think they're ugly... hell, we like the things lol
