Jimmy's Kid Idiot
Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 826 | March 9th, 2006 at 10:46pm I'm probably going to get laughed at for this but...
I saw about three seconds of the AI video back in like Nov. of '04, the part where Billie pretends to hold a gun to his head and Mike and Tre are getting slimmed with a strobe light in slow motion...yeah, so that little clip scared the shit outta me so, you know what I did? I decided to go buy the CD, then I went out and bought all the rest within a few weeks. |

I bought a copy of Guitar World with Billie Joe on the cover. I thought it was cool that they were making a "punk opera" and that's when I realized I wanted to be a rock star. I bought the American Idiot CD and loved it, then I bought Dookie, which I loved even more, but then I got Insomniac for my birthday and that's what made them my favorite band. Tracks like Geek Stink Breath, Jaded, and Walking Contradiction kind of brought out the bad boy in me
actually, before Green Day, I wasn't really in to music all that much. All my parents bought for me was Beatles 'cause that's what THEY listened to...but Green Day (and, later, blink-182 and Sum 41) kind of opened my eyes to this kind of music beyond Oldies, hip-hop and corporate pop. I would probably still be that lame nerd I was in 6th grade if it wasn't for them. |

| March 11th, 2006 at 01:19am Okay.... I think it was my cousin, but I'm not sure. I remember having heard American Idiot at the first dance and at that dance, I got a cd with American Idiot on it. I think it took me like a year to figure out who actually sung that song. I than asked my cousins about it and they knew the band, so I've loved Green Day ever since. I am so grateful for this. I couldn't find any songs that really went with the way I was feeling before Green Day, so Green Day really opened up my eyes. |
