I've been looking to open a topic in here for a while, and I finally came up with one.

Well, there's been theories like say... there being an exact copy of you somewhere else on the earth. And some people believe in a total opposite universe.

Like, say, what if you had said no instead of yes? What would have happened? Is there another universe where it happened?

there could be a billion gazillion million different universes for each different decision you had made/could make. for every single person in the world changing each persons life completely. like a million different stories, all with the same beginning but each having different endings.

Well, what if it was the other way around. What if Earth was the alternate universe of another. That would mean that any good decisions you made were the exact opposite of yourself in another universe. That would mean that the only reason you, as a person, are making either smart or poor decisions would be relied upon what your opposite did. So say you decide to not do drugs when it's offered to you, the only reason you would have opted out on it would be because in another alternate universe, you said yes. There could be many, many, more possibilites and outcomes but the answer of whether or not it is true will probably never be for sure.

but then it should work both ways, the same way, us earthlings see life forms from another planet as aliens, and they would most likely see us as aliens.

You see, I don't get where us people get this thing with aliens. There's basically no proof of "aliens" existence besides the so called crop circles and such. Where do we come off to have this way of calling something from another place outside our planet an alien? How do we know lifeforms do not look like us? People? It's confusing.

there is no proof. but that doesnt mean to say they dont exist. and an alien is a name given to anything unfamiliar to the lifeform speaking. even if they looked like humans, they would still be considered aliens once they found out they were not from earth.

Exactly, I get that. I just, well, what if an alien landed on your doorstep. No one was home. And no other living human being knew of this strange unknown being. What would you, as a citizen of the planet Earth, do?

i dont think that aliens should be called aliens... it could b offensive to them, its sorta mean, like how would u like it if they came up to you and started calling u an alien?! - when ppl call things aliens, i always think of star wars, or star trek, etc and aliens might look exactly like us for all we know ... idk... i dont really believe much in aliens, but if there were aliens or other life forms in a different universe, im not sure if it would be all opposite of here... idk much about this sorta thing

i readd a short story about that once...it was really...awesome...and short...it went something like this:

somewhere, on or under the earth, there is a clone of you. It conspires all its life to find a way to kill you. But what it doesn't know is that it kills itself by doing that...

anyways...it was a good story anyway...and i really liked that theory

No proof?
May I remind you that the universe is SO HUGE that our puny human minds cannot fathom it?
How EXACTLY is it that in an infinite universe Earth can POSSIBLY be the only inhabited planet?
The furthest we can even hope to explore with our pathetic excuses for tecnology is within our own solar system. The universe is far larger than that. Just because there is (likely) no life in our own solar system does not mean there is no life outside of it. And if all we are looking for is carbon based life forms, that is foolish, because truth is relative. Biology on different planets under different conditions will develop and evolve differently.

There is no proof aliens exist, you say?.

There is no proof they don't either.

ON Ripley's Believe it or Not there was a guy, who I swear, looked exactly like GWB. My friend's dad looks like Dick Chaney, and there are, i'm sure other things that have happened like that.

This is another reason I love comics...

A little over a decade ago, DC Comics had a 12-part "Crisis on Infinite Earths" where they explored the multiverse. Essentially, there WERE an infinite number of universes where different things happened, but in a fight with a being that was destroying pretty much all of the universes for their energy, the multiverse was fused into one universe, and every remaining person was folded into that one universe.

But I kinda like the idea of parallel universes. A universe where alien life contacted the Sicilians in the 1600, for instance!

That's because you've never found evidence to prove that theory wrong. There could be NOTHING out there, no lifeforms with a star large enough to provide heat and warmth for survival, no lifeforms with an adundant food supply to nurish themselves with, there could be nothing at all, yet scientists would be making top dollar to develop these hypothetical theories of alternate lifeforms among us and we all would be believing it. It is because they believe, as well as most people believe, that there is a possibility, yet no actual proof to prove the theories wrong.
