Age: - Gender: - Posts: 16 | August 18th, 2007 at 07:40am I can play pretty much any of their stuff. It's all just powerchords. Even the early stuff is easy, all you have to do is get your pentatonic scales down really good. All those early solos are based around the blues pentatonic scale. |

Favourite Son's probably one of my favourite to play. So simple... but so catchy.
The reason I play so many AI songs is that I have the book - and so its just always there.

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 7797 | September 12th, 2007 at 02:55am Yes, but Church on Sunday has the exact same riff that makes up most of St. Jimmy and Blitzkreig. Good shit. |

| September 12th, 2007 at 03:10am What I love about GD's riff: SO MANY POWER CHORDS AND BARRE CHORDS! I love Billie for that. It makes everything easy. I can play At The Library, When I Come Around, Brain Stew, Basket Case, The Simpsons Theme...

I take lessons still (I've been taking them for a while so yes I'm real good) so I learn a new song like every week. |

Meh, I wouldn't call them easy, compared to power chords. I mean, they're not hard, but power chords are one of the first things you learn.
Though barre chords are impossible to learn on finger-pick acoustic guitars, I'll tell you that much. Especially when you have small hands. |

| September 13th, 2007 at 02:30am ^^ I totally agree. XD Accoustics are annoying when it comes to trying to play barre chords on them. I can only play barre chords on electric. And yeah you can play Brain Stew with barre chords OR power chords, whichever, I personally like using barre chords for that song better. |
Macfadyen Basket Case
Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 16175 | September 13th, 2007 at 05:36am I can do barre chords on acoustics, as long as they have the standard steel-string necks, which are a lot smaller than the nylon classical ones.
I'd imagine barre chords would just sound too high for Brain Stew.. *shrug* |

| September 17th, 2007 at 02:37am Well they sound cool for Brain Stew...they sound higher than they're supposed to for me but that's cause I'm not the best at barre chords. Yeah...I think I like power chords better...haha...XD I changed my mind. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 16175 | September 17th, 2007 at 04:45am But.. thats the point of a barre chord.
How do they sound higher for you? Do you move your hands up the fretboard? :x It's not like you can accidentally press down strings, they're all meant to be pressed down.. |

| September 19th, 2007 at 04:22am I don't know, I don't know why I said that, I must have been tired, but I think it's because you have to tune your guitar a half step down to make it sound normal, and Billie plays it with barre chords in BIAB. |
Macfadyen Basket Case
Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 16175 | September 20th, 2007 at 12:48am If it's usually half-step down, you'd have to play it lower, not higher.
*shrug* It all comes down to preference, I guess. |
