How was it a rip off of Resident Evil?
RE was about a city being consumed by zombies.
SH is about a town that is being consumed by a girl's nightmares. The controls was what made me think that. Then again it was made by the same company....I think... Not the storylines, sorry to confuse you. |

Oh that's okay.
No, SH was by Konami and RE by Capcom.
I'll have to ask my brother about the controls because he pwns both games compared to me. |

The first half of the movie was great, it sort of went off on one at the church bit but nevertheless a great movie
Did anyone like the movie when she first gets to Silent Hill? The camera angles were exactly the same as the game, and then the demon baby things - I was like 'this is class!' |

oh ya definitely, the way they introduce the monsters, they just cut right to the chase...
I kinda was hoping they would show more pyramid head, like they could have him chase her thru a maze, that would be awesome |

Exactly, she was like shittin' it! Not that you wouldn't be of course
I don't think that Pyramid Head should have even been in it because of what he represents to James from Silent Hill 2 - completely nothing to do with this story. But the fans love the character so I think it was a homage to them, and he did scare me to death when he first appeared! Oh and the skinning alive........ |

As much as I love the Silent Hill games I just couldn't justify getting a PSP for that. >_< |

actually i think he was there to punish those who hurt sharon,
in the videogames, the things you see in Silent Hill represent the sins you have done in the past, therefore the pyramid head was there to punish james for what he has done...
and when I think about it, I think if they make a sequel, Sharon's father would receive a letter similar SH2 when James recieved a letter from deceased wife, and it would start out in the town he lives in and eventually he would travel to Silent Hill also similar to SH3... |

Yeah I can see what you're saying - Sharon created the monsters so she could get back at the people who hurt her, therefore including Pyramid Head....and they've definitely left the door open for a sequel with the letter going to her husband I think you meant? I didn't know whether they were dead or just trapped in the Silent Hill world - the latter seems the likely one.
I was also really impressed that the music used in the film was from the games....I was grinning in the cinema like a right gaming geek |

Ya, I was suprised that they kept the game music, you can tell that the director definitely knew what to do and actually did his research unlike most videogame movies!!! |

Akira Yamaoka, the composer for the games, took part in making the music. That's why they used some of the same music in the movie.
Me and my brother love the music. We have all the soundtracks. |
