Also, am I the only person who thought of Romeo and Juliet when they were on either side of the fish tank? Also, Annie is soo cute. I wish her and Sam had kissed.

I thought of Romeo and Juliet, actually.. 
I liked how they just threw the viewer straight in at the deep end..
There was no namby-pamby introduction to make sure you remember the characters..
It was just like.. "And now, Life On Mars... RAWROMGLOOKWHAT'SHAPPENING!"

There was a character in it called Cartwright.
There were two detectives with moustaches who hated the hero.
Angel's flat looked almost identical to Sam's.
And the main storyline was about a cop who does everything by the book, taken out of his natural environment to a place where things are done differently (badly) and he finds that when he conforms to this, he's much happier than where he was before.
There was no rastafarian bartender though. Which was a shame. |
