Armstrong said on Times Talks that it was never set in stone (or whatever phrase he used) that Kiffmeyer would be their drummer, so I'm sure they weren't surprised when he left. |

Bad: He left Billie and Mike as the drummer after giving them much street cred. They must have felt used, betrayed. I know I would feel the same.
Good: John left because he was going to college. I bet you right now that because he went to college, he must have a degree of some sort and living his life well.
Now don't get me wrong, the guys have done so well for themselves even without a full education in college, but John went the extra step to rise above them. |

you're right, actually. i probably would have, too. it's a lot smarter and safer to go to college and have a successful life guarenteed instead of having it 50/50. unfortunately for john, green day was one of the rare cases that rise to the top from nothing. and i love them for that.  |
