The Black Daliah Murder

Okay I was reading this story about Beth Short here, and I was VERY surprised at this. I mean, how could someone do such a thing? There's stuff that was done to her I can't even say because I don't feel right saying it. I can't believe I didn't know about this...well it happened in 1947, so...

She was some wannabe actress...when she left the Biltmore Hotel to meet a young man, it was the last time anyone saw her alive. Then the next morning someone found her nude body lying in a vacant lot, thinking it was a mannequin. She was nicknamed 'The Black Daliah' because she wore all black all the time. She knew Marilyn Monroe, loved servicemen, had an affair with George Knowlton, father of Janice Knowlton, the author of Daddy Was The Black Daliah Killer.


I have some pictures, but they are very graphic and not appropriate for everyone. If you get easily frightened or sick, I advise you not to look at them. I'm just warning you because these pics are pretty gruesome, besides the first one.

I want to spit on the person that did that to her...much more actually...I think they could've done a better job on this case...but then again, it was in a time when they didn't have the advances that we do now...Do you thinkthey could've done a better job than just giving her a nickname?

I'm speechless. I'm disgusted that a person could do that to another person. I just don't see how anyone thinks they have the right to do that to a human being.

I agree with you. Those pictures are disturbing, and it shows just how cruel the world can be sometimes.

Have you been to the website? Alot more happened to her...alot of VERY disgusting things.

no boudt that was a sick ann sense,ess thing to do, but we have seen more horofice things since then many of which dont come to light, so why should we fuss over this one, i dont want to come over has an heartless bitch i just think that perhaps we should concentrate on what we see now and not yesterday, the person was found and convicted from the site that i found anyway.

Murders and rape and all sorts of terrible crimes happen everyday but I can't deal with a topic for every single one, so whats so significant about this case?

I asked them if they thought the police could've done a better job with the investigation. I wanted to talk about how they were'nt doing ALL they could. It's not my fault people have nothing to say but 'Oh, that's terrible.'
