I really like the new song/video. I mean, I'm not a HUGE FOB fan but I really like their music and stuff and I thought it was really awesome.

"my ex gf [his one and only GF he once described as "his family"] was with me for the ride up. now I'm at the top of the rollercoaster and I'm on it by myself. when I go back to my bunk at night all I've got is my GarageBand. Work is the reason we broke up, and work was my drinking buddy when I lost her. Instead of actually having a drinking buddy, I worked my ass off. the day we broke up I called my booking agent and told him to book march 22 because I didnt want to be home alone on our anniversary. book her bday, book valentines day, book every fucking day you can"

New journal

so driving to family christmas this morning i just happened to be listening to the radio, which almost never happens and on Q101 someone calls in and gives a shout out to the fobr boardies. it blew my mind. i started laughing about how strange things have become.

so while thinking about christmas and good spirits and what not- i was thinking of all the people that took us under their wing before anyone else really cared about this band. alot of these people and bands are underappreciated, so i just wanted to give our appreciation: less than jake, the early november, armor for sleep, brendan from atticus, everyone at ap- both of them, tim from nike- im sure there are others these are the ones that came to my head while driving.

anyway, take care. have fun with your families and try not to kill eachother.

merry christmas, i could care less.

OMFG I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT CALLED IN. I CAN'T BELIEVE HE HEARD US lmfao lmfao lmfao

"Trohman has turned the act of eating a cupcake into a contact sport. He picks off the candy water garnish, licks it, and then makes a face in disgust. After placing the candy back in the cardboard box, the newly fro-ed guitarist attempts to shove the entire confection in his mouth, but ends up losing half of it to the wooden coffee table and the other to the carpet. He finally admits defeat and succumbs to a napkin and a fork."

Awwww. I love Joe. I don't know where that's from though

Pete's '06 list

Thought I'd turn in my Top 10 of 2006 before 2008 happens (P.S. Every hater knows I love Gym Class Heroes and The Hush Sound too).

Cobra Starship - When The City Sleeps, We Rule The Streets
Let's be honest, this is what Gabe always wanted to be doing. It's okay to have fun sometimes. This thing feels like a high-fie in my ears. "G.A.B.E., gonna get you high..."

Jay-Z - Kingdom Come
This thing is missing a couple of Tim beats; you can't mess with Justin Blaze, though. Jay could flow over a turd (whoa, is that like a metaphor for the new Fall Out Boy record) and I'd still eat it up. Yes, please shoot me for saying "flow". But he is the best.

Some Girls - Heavens Pregnant Teens
Sometimes it feels like you have been taken on a journey outside of music. This is a band that has always done that for me. The words again hit me right where Wes' always have. I don't think I could ever picture where this band is going next and I love that. Music and words free of the pretense of hardcore or being cool.

Lil' Wayne / Birdman - Split
I think Lil' Wayne maybe only felt like putting out half a record, but this thing is insane. I think he's one of the best MCs around. If he ever got a really good beat, it'd be over, I think. Baby's half is okay, but really, this is music just to play loud in your car with your windows down and pretend you are a gangster when driving around the suburbs.

Lifetime - 7"
Not really a record, but I'd put these two songs against half the other records that came out this year. This takes me back to the fireside bowl and reminds me of where I've come from. Some of the best dudes around who honestly deserve the attention.

Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSounds
It's kind of insane when a cliche' becomes a cliche', but after seeing this dude perform live, he really is the best. And his band is pretty amazing too.

Brand New - The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
When this record came out, for two weeks I hated it. I hated it more than any record I have in a long time. I put such expectations on it that no matter what it was, it couldn't live up. Slowly, I found it making its way into background music and hearing the words. Then I got what the band had eant and what they had done. I now love it. "Jesus Christ, I'm alone again..."

Nelly Furtado - Loose
I remember being in love with Nelly when "Like A Bird" came out, and then I was like, "Where did she go?" So when I heard "Promiscuous" I was stoked. Such a good performer and she writes. I was like, "How many singles does this thing hae on it? Like 11?" It doesn't hurt that she's really easy on the eyes.

Mickey Avalon - Self Titled
Yeah, I know I'm trashy. I honestly wish I signed him. He is the male Peaches. Don't sleep on it.

Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
This is just the best band out. It's ad that nobody in the U.S. cares. I'm thinking 'cause we can't get past the "Radiohead heavy", but this thing is insane. This is one of the best live bands ever. The cowboy video is easily one of the most hilarious things I have seen in forever.

Patrick's '06 list

I need to start by saying I'm sure the metal community has brought sickness to brutal new heights this year. I'll leave that to Trohman though.

Tom Waits: Orphans
On his worst day (and a man this prolific has probably documented it) Tom Waits is still our greatest living American songwriter. His records are a consistent rite of passage for indie rockers and people who generally want to sound intelligent (is it working?). Ignore the hype, close the blinds, and enjoy the gift that Tom Waits has for expressing all facets of the human experience using only a junkyard and some imagination.

Jay Z: Kingdom Come
So there I am in Sony Studios with Jay, Beyonce, LA Reid, Young Guru, and Bleek thinking to myself that A) I'm whiter and nerdier than anything Weird Al can come up with B) What am I doing here, and C) This is the best fucking record I've heard in a long time. Two words: Just Blaze. I'm telling you, that's the future. Most under-rated producer alive. Kanye and John Legend. So good it's disgusting. Jay? Duh.

Justin Timberlake: Futuresex/lovesounds
It's easy to forget that this is a Timberlake record as Timbaland is so prominent and effective. But JT holds up. He sings circles around just about every other dude that's not Nat King Cole or Stevie Wonder and he even adds a little Bowie/Eno Berlin feeling to the R&B funk which is pretty much my taste to a T.

My Chemical Romance: The Black Parade
I was living with Bob Bryer at the Oakwood apartments in Burbank while My Chem was recording this and FOB was recording Infinity on High. We had a barbecue on the 4th of July, bought as many inflatable cactuses as we could find, and watched Grizzly Man. When I moved out I left a hell of a mess. Sorry Bob. Neat freak. Memories. PS, Ray Toro is a shredder.

Gnarls Barkley: St. Elsewhere
I'm sure this record is going to get name checked enough, so I'll just say this: Cee-Lo has been making astounding use of his astounding voice since Goodie Mob (and his brilliant solo records) and it's high time that he got the attention he deserved.

John Mayer: Continuum
Mayer is single handedly making the Stratocaster cool again cause he can actually play the thing. And I mean PLAY. I also think his voice is an underestimated weapon. Kinda reminds me of a funny Van Morrison.

Christina Aguilera: Back To Basics
Probably the most capable vocalist I've ever had the luxury of seeing live. Holy shit. Should be noted too that production by Premier and Mark Ronson are pretty sick too.

The Who: Wire & Glass
I haven't had time to really sit with the new album "Endless Wire" so I'll just say that this 6 song mini opera is better than the last two Who albums combined...and every band who've ever emulated the Who (excepting Green Day).

Nelly Furtado: Loose
So Timbaland's back again. Huge. He hasn't done a lot of straight hip hop this year and I think it's taking it's toll on the genre. If Lil Wayne isn't on it and it's hip hop, it probably sucked this year. Instead, Timbo lent his genius to the worthy pipes of the suddenly funky Furtado on her third record that totally ditches the folky stuff. She actually brought the sexy back. I have no idea what "No hay Igual" means.

Beyonce: B Day
I know that movie Deja Vu isn't out yet but I'm already sure the song of the same name is gonna overshadow the shit out of it.

I can only get it on iTunes, and plus it's not technically an album because the producer didn't get FOB permission to release it. But I have PReety in Punk off of it. and i don't like how Pete sings all that much, he's better at backround Smile
