 | November 16th, 2006 at 10:46am I wrote most of this in a maths lesson nearly 2 years ago. It's been edited since that first draft, but not much.
Shading in the Squares
Pointless repetition
I've got a whirring in my skull
Ask if we are done yet
But all I get is "no"
Forgot the taste of bread
And the smell of the open air
Waiting for my chance to quit
When I'm shading in the squares
Sapping my strength
Consuming my psyche
Wasting my time
It's really tough being caught unawares
Shading in the squares all my life
Arrows point the way
To the boredom lost within
Whistles in the background
Make the whirring like a din
The pattern keeps repeating
The talking is insane
Is there a point to this tedious work
It's becoming such a drain
Far off in the distance
A call from another lost soul
I've just got to get out of here
Or I'll be trapped inside this hole
Perfect rectangles
It's all that I loathe
I just can't stand any more
Of this monotonous drone |
