i found in this magazine, a poster of the three and Mike had his bass in a cake. yes IN A CAKE. lol. it tickled me. i wonder how long it took him to get all the cake off of his strings...X)
why should it be moved? its a musical instrument and this is the musicians forum.....too many regulations on this site.
I:
All of the other Band Member forums have the equipment threads in them, and this one should be in the mike forum.
If you had read, you'd know thats why I moved it, I clearly stated my reasoning. The heading above the Other Bands, Musicians, other sites and Entertainment forum is "Random Stuff". Why would we have something important thats Green Day related there when we have a different section for Green Day, more specifically even Mike? You're acting as if this is some big ordeal and complaing about rules when it's not an issue at all. The thread is still here isn't it? I don't see the need to complain.

it just seems a bit picky...i think musicians will be most interested in it though.
Hey Dom... if you notice when Courtny moved the thread here she left a 'ghost' of it in the Musician's Forum... so it's still 'there' so you can access it from this froum or the other one
Yeah...might take a couple of coats of paint, but its possible...
My husband has painted his basses different colors over the years...
You NEED to sand down the OLD finish... you have to do that to have a good base for the paint to take.
He has used all sorts of different kinds of paint from auto paint, rustoleium brand(sp) to regular oil base paint... whatever color he fancied he used...lol. My husband has no fear
After a couple coats... he then sanded very lightly and covered it with a clear poly coat.
I have also covered his pick guard myself with paint and another time used contact paper to achive a look he wanted. After I sanded and coated I also covered with a poly coat.
BUT... when you repaint a guitar it loses some value... when he sold these basses he got a little less due to not having the original factory stock color.
is the star on mike dirnts bass vinyl? and did fender make him a white with black pickguard or did he paint it?
I'm sure the star and the anchor are decals. Fender I am sure did the pickguard for Mike.
When a famous musician asks for a certain product to be made... the company makes it. If and when the product evolves into a signature line then sometimes they are not made color copy exactly to the artists' instrument.
And also thank you for listenig to the mods tell you time and again to post in the correct threads.
anyone notice in bullet in a bible that the bass sounds really different to each other? is this because of amp settings or different pickups? does he replace the pickups on his new bass with SD antiquity ones like he did on his old p-bass to get the old GD sound?
