Television is a punk rock band, or at least was at that time. Without them opening CBGB's to that type of scene, the Ramones wouldn't have ever even played there. Television wasn't just the first punk act at CBGB's, they helped set that whole scene in all of New York City. As the band got older, their music became more defined and the guitar's became dueling and more intricate, but that doesn't change the contributions they made to the punk scene. I mean, come on, everyone knows that!

Kurtni`s wright. They were punk rock and later got more art rock. I loved that article didn't know Green Day played at CBGBs
