Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 17669 | June 16th, 2007 at 12:21pm I haven't got Barry Trotter but I seem to remember giving up quite quickly on Bored of the RIngs.
I've got Star Warped too, but I haven't bothered with that.
I'm ebaying it. |

 | June 16th, 2007 at 12:27pm I haven't read the entire Bored of the Rings book yet either.
I don't know where it is now tbh.
My favourite bit in Barry Trotter is when Barry is talking to a taxi driver:
Taxi Driver: Hey! Arn't you that guy!? Harry something?
Barry: AS IF! What a stupid name! Barry actually. |

Age: 35 Gender: Female Posts: 17669 | June 16th, 2007 at 02:00pm I remember someone wanting to sue JKR cos she had a book called "Lily Potter and her best friend Harry."
Now, I'm no critic, but judging by the title, it sounds to me that apart from two first names and one last name, JKR couldn't steal anything else from it, because while she has a complex and interesting plot, "Lily Potter and her Best Friend Harry" sounds more like something written by a seven year old.
A literacy challenged kid.
Who lacks any form of creativity.
I mean honestly, could that title be any lamer? |

Trainspotting pwns.
*types from memory*
Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed- interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing sprit- crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing you last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? |

Trainspotting! It's one of the greatest films ever made.
And speaking of Trainspotting on the Harry Potter thread, look what I found when Googling this film (i'll post the link 'cause it's a big picture):

I've never actually seen trainspotting all the way through, we just studied the first half hour or so in media.
