There's a serious lack of Snupin in the world. And on Mibba, there's a Harry/Billie one. HARRY/BILLIE WTF. |

 | August 17th, 2007 at 06:43pm I know! That's exactly what I thought!
But then I went and read that story. And its really weird. The author kind of gave Harry Billie's personality and vice versa. |

Actually, in terms of fanfiction, I don't like to read/write Harry-stuff that much. I mean, the books are all about him, I tend to take a break from that when it comes to fanfiction.
lyrical_mess:Ginny/Draco stories are wrong on so many levels. So many levels.
I wrote a Ginny/Draco It was kind of this comment that inspired it, actually. I just thought 'Hmm, Draco/Ginny, I should give that a shot'. xD |

I know.
I'm sure some people can bring in new characters wonderfully.
BUT.
People always seem to introduce these abnormally beautiful, pale, mysterious 'new girl' students or whatever, and she's amazingly magically talented with a few special powers too and a troubled past for good measure.
And it's just like "no." |

More commonly known as a Mary Sue.
She's super cool, has no faults whatsoever, and every male (and a few females) fall in love with her the second she steps foot into the castle.
She's super intelligent too, and does all her homework so Hermione gets on with her really well OR she gets jealous and then Hermione bashing ensues.
It's all marvellous.
And Draco/Ginny is a pairing that wins, Sruti, no matter what you say.
Oh and Meg, your fic's inspired me. Basically, reading your fic + dwelling on Tom Riddle for the last few weeks = tiny drabble type thing. |

Kate, Anna, Mary etc. ... Or people use their own names, which is like the highest level of pathetic sry. |

I think OCs can be feasible to an extent, if they're introduced in an appropriate setting, like, I don't know, working at the Ministry and they just come into contact with people through that, but transferring to the school from another country for no particular reason is just silly. |

I KNOW. I hate those so much
These girls are usually so perfect, yet mysterious and unwilling to socialize. And Harry Potter usually becomes obsessed with her.
I haven't really read a good one that introduces a new girl. I never like newbie as much as the real HP characters anyway. |

I'm sorry, if you're acknowledging they're OOC then why bother posting? Basically, it's getting two existing characters to do your bidding because you can't be arsed to flesh out two of your own, or make the original characters realistic.
They're worse than Mary-Sues, cos they turn the girl character into a Mary-Sue and the boy character into someone as poetic as Shakespeare. It's just like omgno. |

Don't they realise that you wrote the fucking thing? Or do they think that I just typed it up on some idle Tuesday without really thinking about what it means? |
