'Scuse me, Dumbledore (Harris and Gambon), Luna, Moody and Mrs Dursley are all played by Irish actors and it never says in the books that they're not British. And aside from Richard Harris and Fiona Shaw, they all kept their Irish accents. |

Yes, but it's not specific about anybody's accent, is it? Ottery St Catchpole is in Devon, yet I can tell you for sure that film Ron does not speak at ALL like he's from Devon. (Don't quote me on Devon, but it's down south, like Dorset/Cornwall/Devon). I mean, it doesn't say what accent many of them have, but as long as they're UKian it's all gravy, because Hogwarts isn't just a school for English people, it's basically for the whole UK. That's how I see it, anyway. |
