Gossip Girl is an American television teen drama based on the popular novel series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of socialite young adults growing up on New York's Upper East Side who attend elite academic institutions while dealing with sex, drugs, and other teenage issues. Featuring an ensemble cast, the series mainly centers around the lives of former best friends, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), and their shared romantic interest, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford). As outsiders looking in, Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) do not run in the same social or financial circles as their peers but are drawn into their lives nonetheless. The series is narrated by a seemingly omniscient character, "Gossip Girl" (voiced by Kristen Bell), who runs a blog about her fellow Upper East Siders ” consequently stirring the pot and creating potential rivalries in this exclusive and vicious circle of friends.

I read the first 4 parts but I don't find anything unpredictible or special.The TV show isn't here yet.I'd like to see who plays Daniel, it was like my favourite character :/
EDIT: Oh,I've seen him now. When I imagined him he looked...prettier
liked the books, despise the show. (no offense to anyone who likes it but I can't stand it...)
Even if the guy who plays Dan is freaking hot, its not enough to make me watch... and I can't freaking believe that the girl who plays Jenny is Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas...
I bet the show is way better if you haven't read the books, just because it is so ridiculously different from it. I hate the way they cast jenny, dan and vanessa. And I think that all that parent drama is bullshit. But it is a nice baby O.C. I guess, and I will probably watch it when it airs here.
I'm hearing from an extremely reliable source that a male character on Gossip Girl will be revealed to be of the gay persuasion when the show returns on April 21. Who? Can't say. Won't say. It's too good a surprise. I will, however, offer five tantalizing clues.
• This person may or may not be pictured above.
• The revelation significantly impacts the lives of at least three people.
• The aftershocks will be felt on both sides of the East River.
• Some viewers will be surprised by the twist, others not so much.
• In the Gossip Girl novels, Dan was known to be a bit of a switch hitter — which isn't so much a clue as it is a fact. A misleading fact? Perhaps. Perhaps not

I think its Nate.
That would effect the lives of Blair, Chuck, and Serena, not to mention his parents. That may be why his dad was doing drugs - he couldn't handle the thought that his boy was gay.
