 | January 30th, 2008 at 04:25pm uhm...just about ANY green day song, most MCR songs. both bands use power chords a lot, so its easier. i taught myself too, i learned everything from green day songs. lol. when you are thinking of songs to play think of a song that isn't too complex, then look at the tabs. make sure you don't get any drop d tabs or tabs that take everything down a half step unless you want to spend time tuning your guitar. if you want some good practice with some harder songs, try learning stairway to heaven by led zepplin or welcome home by coheed and cambria. STH starts out slow and reapeats itself a lot but then gets pretty intense. the begining is very simple tho. and welcome home starts out a little complicated then gets easier but then the solo is wayy hard. well, i hope that helped, message me if you want to know anything else |

That's the riff.
Then the verse is two notes:
E|----1-|
B|--1---|
Just repeated over. I think that's it anyway. |

 | March 21st, 2008 at 08:58pm If at first it hurts to stretch your fingers to a power chord, you should play open chord songs [eg. Good Riddance, House of The Rising Sun]. But if you're used to the power chords, you can play songs by bands like The Ramones, Green Day, Nivana, etc.
Usually any hard rock band, really. They're really easy. |

Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
Wonderwall - Oasis
Whatever - Oasis
Paperback Writer - The Beatles
That's Entertainment - The Jam
Run - Snow Patrol
Thank You - Led Zeppelin
Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
And (as much it pains me to say it, but it is incredibly easy) You're Beautiful - James Blunt
All classic songs, easy to play, sound great on acoustic guitar on your own and everyone would know them if you played them at a party/in school/whatever. |
