 | April 24th, 2009 at 01:14am the Know Your Enemy video is on greenday.com right now.
It's pretty good, it's a simple video for a simple song. Nothing too extravagant, but it works. A lot of people on GDC are giving the video shit but it doesn't deserve it |

 | April 24th, 2009 at 01:32pm The video premiered today. TMF declared it Green Day Day and played Know Your Enemy quite often.
It's really awesome. I don't see what's wrong with it... |

but once i did watch it tons more, i actually think they did a great job to make it 'green day'.
i loved the song to begin with, anyway.
i love the riffs.
i'm still upset i missed the preimere, though. i thought it was on tonight at 8pm. |

My radio station announced today that they're giving away the album if you're caller 20, and then if you win the CD, you get entered into a drawing to see them ANYWHERE in the US. *flail*
I've won things on the radio before, so I'm definitely giving this a shot too....
But I'm glad they're finally getting back out there. Good to have them back. |

| April 25th, 2009 at 05:06pm The new song disappoints me so. It's like the same lines over and over again. It took them five years to write that peice of garbage? I thought they were taking this time to back to their roots. But no, it sounds like everything else. |

From all the reviews I've read, the rest of the album's going to be massive. I agree, they definitely have the potential to do much better than this. They probably just released this song as the first single to get people back into Green Day. It works well as a single - it has a catchy, repetitive chorus, it's full of energy and has the least emotional attachment. While Know Your Enemy is far from being a masterpiece, and could end up being forgettable in the long run, it's not a bad song.
I guess I just have a lot of faith in what Green Day does. :]
Oh, and Lights Out definitely goes back to Green Day's roots. If you haven't heard it yet, you definitely should, it's great. tbh I like it a bit more than KYE. |

Hi.
I agree with asthenia. The potential is there for better, bigger stuff, but KYE is a good first single. It's not as clever than I would've expected but it's not terrible either. We'll see! |

Uh, no. It just sounds like Green Day circa Dookie with better production.
If better production means sounding like the Backstreet Boys then give me an old school 4-track any day. |
