H1N1 Flu

Tons of people are getting it. and my mom wants me to get vaccinated. is it worth it?

I think that lots of people are over reacting.

We had someone on our campus get it. But it's not spreading like mad. I think it is a bunch of hoopla myself.

It's just the common flu, people are blowing this way out of porportion because the media put a glitzy name on it. The only people who have died from it had some sort of underlying health issue, or were very young.

It's basically a normal flu virus. The main differences are the speed at which it's spreading and scientists were having a much harder time getting a flu shot together for it. And the media coverage, of course.

A few kids at my school got it,

And back in school actually.
My grandma is freaking.

I haven't got it yet, either.


I forgett where, but did anyone else hear about that place that was killing off pigs to prevent it from spreading, because it's called swine, and that's pig.

Some kids in my school were making fun of it, and about the whole school wore pig tails taped on their rears. To throw that out there.

i think ppl are just overracting because so many people are getting it. i think its just the normal flu. but its sorta ironic because today im home sick and i went to the dr. and shes like "you might start seeing that tomorrow" yuck.

^and yeas ive heard about the pig killing thing. was that in mexico or something. (pretty sure its a rumor tho, but i could be wrong)

When I was in China, some of my friends got quarantined for sitting near people on the plane who had swine flu...

They were kids on the same Chinese course as us [it was on the news], they were supposed to be coming with us to the campus. they [the infected kids] spent half the trip in hospital.

My friend had it, but she recovered pretty quickly, I'm still kinda worried though

I have a ~serious underlying health condition~ so I can't take the treatment and people at uni keep coming up and hugging me and then being like "lol I might have swine flu!"

apparently a ton of people got it in my city last year, but it wasn't that serious. The first few cases were quarantined, the schools were closed, but after a while it became less severe. At least, this is what I've heard, I don't know anyone first hand who's had it.

I got it, it's not that bad. I mean yeah, it sucks, but if you've had the regular flu before (which I have) then it's really not even that bad when compared with the regular flu. The only thing that really sucks about it is the annoying nagging cough that you keep for about a month after. I got the flu on September 25th and was over it by the 28th, but I still have the nasty congestion and cough. That's it though.

Over 500 kids at my highschool had it, including some teachers, and it looked like the fucking plague hit because one of my classes usually has 23 students but only 5 were there.

My take on it is that the people who die from it are usually old, small children, or people who were already sick before they got the swine flu and it didn't help because their immune system was already weak. I think the vaccination is sort of dumb because health specialists are spazzing about it since it hasn't really been tested on people yet. So for all we know it could have serious adverse effects that are far more deadly than the swine flu itself and people could get really messed up from the shot. Honestly, if I were everyone else, I would just not get the shot and accept that you might get the swine flu. It's really not that bad.

Taco actually went to the doctor asking if she had it, cause she had the urge to oink and roll around in the mud.

So I gave her permission to go roll around in the mud xD
She got her bathing suit on and got yelled at by her mom to stay inside
