It shows in the UK on Sky One (and repeated on Sky Two and Sky Three), and is made by Granada Productions. It is also shown in the US on the cable network G4 and in other European countries on Discovery Channel, as well as in South Africa on DStv channel 65 (discovery). The presenters are Richard Hammond (from Top Gear) and Jon Tickle (formerly of Big Brother). In season 2 Charlotte Hudson joined Hammond and Tickle to bring the total number of hosts up to 3. The show refers to people who examine and test the experiments as Brainiacs. The show is partly played more for comic effect than strict scientific accuracy. The programme is familiar to that each episode would finish with the team blowing up a caravan. This could be related to Richard Hammond's Top Gear heritage, on which caravans have regularly been destroyed - used as a target for a compressed air powered car-catapault and conkers being played with two caravans held up by cranes. Who else loves it?

Bainiac is an awesome programme and so so so funny, I love watching things get blown up!

And caravans are the most ridiculous and horrid things on the planet so I love seeing them get blown up as well. Did anyone see the one where they werlaying twisted sister on a radio (you can't stop rock and roll) and then one of the brainiacs went up to it with a baseball bat and smashed it to pieces and then Richard goes "Well apparently you can stop rock and roll, with a baseball bat" It had my dad crying with laughter. Haha.
