Thats wrong on so many different levels. These people need to get their priorities right, so what if girls are stupid enough to go out and have unprotected sex, think of the women who are suffering from cancer. What value does that place on life, if people are more concerned about unprotected/pre-marital sex than saving lives?
I think they're worried about more teen-pregnancies, I can understand why they are worried but they should come up with a good compromise. Maybe some way for the drug to only be distributed among those who have the cancer. They wouldn't be putting these in drugstores where anyone can buy them anyway.

Yes, but would you rather have an increase in Teen pregnacies or an increase in cervical cancer deaths?
The kids will end up on the streets.. so it's basically the same thing because either way innocent lives will be either ruined or ended.

Not all children born out of a teenage pregnancy life a deprived life. My best friend being one of them. But i think we're going a little OT about this teen pregnancy thing, if kids want to go out and ruin their lives, then fine. Women with cervical cancer shouldn't suffer because of this.

They would be ruining two lives if they got pregnant and couldn't take care of the baby... but still... the distrubution is the biggest issue.. if they can't figure out some way for only perscriptioned patients to get the drug they are really stupid.

Yes, the distribution is an issue. Im not aware of how the system works in America, but here, it would be damn near impossible to get these drugs unless you needed them, and were getting them on prescription. So it really makes the whole STD/Teen Pregnancy argument invalid, because it isn't an issue. And should not be treated as an excuse for witholding these drugs.

Yeah, i agree. It might just be some sexist inhibition i have, but i pictured the people witholding the drug to be men.

Spelling and mis-quoting...'tis often a thing i make mistakes with in most of my posts, it doesn't mean she isn't genuine.
But that's besides the point. I was looking for articles on this subject, and I found this one

my mom had cervical cancer 1 year ago. and from when she has had her historecimy to now she has been in pain. not like 24/7 pain, but when she bends over.
she was 39, when this happened.
if you are over 35 {or any age} and you have problems holing you children in the 9 month peroid, like if you get really, really sick during that time you might get this cancer. and or you have a pre-mature birth/C-section.
ladys be aware!

Tehy make it sound like a bad thing that it prevents an STD, thats an accomplishment. Since when do we not allow people to recieve medical treatment, even if the injury or sickness if their fault. Other STD's are treated, now that one can be prevented, thats great, not something to hide. And the fact that it cures cervical cancer and is not being allowed to be used is also insane.

Honestly, I think it's retarded. People will be careful with the medicine. And no one's going to throw caution to the wind. It's like saying "I can go tease a shark now, because even if it bites of my leg, I can get a prosthetic one!"

...nuh uh. No one's that's stupid. No one's that careless. If science has discovered something that can truly help people, then the government owes it to the people to release it. It can cure more than one disease! What can be horrible and evil about that?

I don't understand who the hell would be against releasing it. Cure cancer you morons! People have been moaning for a cure for years! And you found a new cure! Use it for fuck's sake! Give it to people!

Maybe I'm ignorant, and maybe I don't understand the situation because I'm only 15, but if you ask me, they shouldn't hold it back.
