What Really Goes On In Billie Joe's Head, chapter 8
We answered their final questions and then they took photos of us. After that, we were free to leave. We got in our limo and started back to our studio at home. I was silent as I tried to remember what happened last night. I eventually gave up because I couldn't remember much. When we got to our studio I felt like I was at home. Los Angeles is not my favorite place, and this small bay town is where I feel the most at home. I said my goodbyes to Mike and Tre and drove home in my car. I felt anxious to see Adie. When I got home, I ran into the house and practically pounced on Adie. She was in the living room with the kids watching TV. I gave her a long hug and kissed her. This time, I didn't mind that the kids were here. I missed Adie so much. After I had greeted Adie I gave the kids hugs and gave them a bag of gummy animals. They loved gummy stuff. While the kids chewed on the gummy animals Adie took my hand and led me to the kitchen.
"I'm pregnant" she told me.
"What? Nothing happened, how?" I said.
"I don't know either." she said, looking down.
All of the sudden my head started pounding and my vision started blurring. She let out a giggle.
"What are you laughing about? This is serious!" I said.
She laughed even harder and put her hand over my hand.
"I'm just kidding, Billie Joe. Don't worry." She said.
"Oh, damn!" I said. "You really scared me!"
"I just felt like messing with you. I don't know. I was tempted to." she said. "I'm sorry Billie Joe if I scared you that much."
I let out a sigh and pulled her into a hug. "How about I take you out to dinner tonight? Just the two of us." I said.
"What about Joey and Jakob?" she asked.
"I'll ask their baby sitter to come. How about that?" I said.
She smiled, "Sure".
I called up the baby sitter, Becky, and prepared to go out. I put on a black button up shirt and a red tie. Adie put on a black spagetti strap dress. I escorted her into my car and I drove off to "Pastis" a French resturaunt. We got a table and ordered our food. I got vegetarian lasagna and Adie got alfredo sauce pasta.
"What were you up to when I was gone?" I asked.
"Well, I took Joey and Jakob to disney land. They got to meet Minnie Mouse." she said.
"Awesome. I wish I could've been there," I said.
"Yeah..." She said. "Did you have fun?" She asked.
"Yeah I guess, but it would've been funner with you." I said.
The waitress poured us each a glass of red wine.
"Although it's only been two days, I missed you," I said.
"I missed you more," she said.
"Really? I think I missed you more," I said playfully.
She took a sip of her wine and looked me in the eye. It was then I remembered the girl at the club. Now I felt more uncomfortable.
"Is there something wrong?" asked Adie.
"Oh, nothing. I'm fine." I said. I took a gulp of my wine. All of the sudden a boy and his mom came towards me.
"Can I get an autograph?" He asked sweetly.
"Sure," I said as I took a sharpie and signed his poster.
The boy smiled excitedly and walked away with his mom.
"Wow," said Adie.
"Anyways," I said. "You're looking great tonight."
"Thanks," said Adie as she blushed.
I put my hand over hers and said, "I love you"
