Lost, chapter 5
Narrator
Both Billie Joe and Mackenzie woke up in hospital beds the next day not remembering a thing from the past few days. Mike and Tre were there the whole time to comfort Billie Joe but Mackenzie just had the ceiling to stare at and her thoughts.
Mackenzie's point of view
"Oh, your awake!" Some excited nurse said as she walked by my bed. I just nodded my head and smiled, I didn't feel like talking to anyone.
But just out of curiosity I asked her, "Hey, what happened to me?" My voice was very groggy and then I coughed afterwards.
"Well hun," She sat down at the foot of my bed, "this is the story I got. You were talking on your cell phone and were connected to the radio, and you were talking to someone else on the radio too, and I do believe he is in the hospital in his area to, but it was stormy out, and lightning struck you and it went through the phone connection and everything." She patted my leg then excused herself from my room to go attend a man falling from his wheelchair.
'What the hell was I doing talking to some dude on the radio? That's odd... I wonder if he was famous or something.' I thought to myself and then dozed off a little.
Mike's point of view
"Tre come on, you know better than I do that we shouldn't tell him." I was pushing Tre into agreeing with me. It was for a good cause, if Billie Joe knew what happened then it could ruin things.
"Mike! What are you talking about! He's our best friend and if he's in love, then let him be in it!" Tre pestered me.
"Man.. But were just gonna be putting out that new CD and if Billie Joe has his mind in other places then what? All his songs are gonna be about how he know this girl and how they both were struck by lightning and how he cant find her now. Do you get what I'm saying?"
"Yah I guess." Tre sighed and then walked away with his head bowed. He strood over to Billie Joe's bedside and gave him a "Hey Buddy." I stood from a distance and watched, tears were forming in my eyes... Had I just done the right thing?
