The Demon., chapter 2

When they got to school Lou would branch off and go to her tutor, while Will walked to his by himself. When he got there he would usually be the first one in and would have a chat to his tutor about what she did yesterday and what lessons they would both have... but not today. The room was empty. He thought nothing of it, so he went to his head of year's office to ask him if his tutor was ill. But when he got there no one was there. So he walked back to his tutor, again, no one was there. By this point he was starting to get worried, so he walked to Lou's tutor, but like everywhere else in the school, no one was there. Then he started to walk back home. He knew Lou was there, he had walked to school with her, and he knew his tutor was there he saw her drive by in her car. He was getting even more worried by the minute. The road was as silent as a dead person, then he heard footsteps behind him, he turned around to look, but no one was there, he heard the steps again, he turned round and looked to see nothing there. Then he felt a cool blow down his neck. This time when he turned round, what he saw was indescribable.
"W-w-w-what a-a-a-are you? He asked.
"You don't need to know that, besides you wouldn't understand what I am"
Will tried to run away but his feet wouldn't move, he was petrified at the sight of the 'thing'.
"Don't try and run away, its useless" it paced around Will, who was franticly tugging at his feet, "You are my last hope, I have asked so many people before you to try this task, all have failed."
"W-w-what happened to them?"
"They died. But you have shown great potential, I am sure you will complete the task I am about to set you." Will thought he was having another one of those nightmares, he expected to wake up any moment now. He didn't. This was real; he knew that, he just thought if he kept saying 'it's a dream, it's a dream,' he would wake up.
"Why do you fear me? I am not here to kill you, actually quite the opposite. I'm here to save your puny race."
"What do you mean?" Will had stopped tugging at his feet and was looking into its black hood; he was somehow... drawn to its darkness.
"Your race, the humans, are in great danger as is the rest of the universe," Before it could finish Will interrupted.
"In danger of what?"
"A great evil. You couldn't begin to understand its deadly powers. It has laid waste to many civilisations before humans arrived"
"So what you're saying is that you want me, Will Murphy, to 'stop' this 'thing' from destroying the universe? No chance!" He tried to walk away but he couldn't.
"You cannot walk away from your destiny Will. I will leave it for you to decide. Death of the universe, or life, you choose! I will visit you again in two days time. Good bye Will" And the 'thing' disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared. Will looked around, the road was busy again and the people at his school were walking to school again.
"Hey Will!" He turned round and saw Louise.
"Oh hi!" and he walked off, but before he turned around he looked back as to where the demon was standing.
