The Guy From The Mall, chapter 34
"We've got him stablised, but it's going to be very touch and go. You can go and see him if you want to."
A wave of relief crashes over the four of you as you run for the doors to Billie's room. He's still not awake, but other than that, he looks normal. He's got some of the color back in his skin, and the gashes in his wrists are completely bandaged.
"Why don't you both go home a while. Me and Tre will stay here."
"Are you sure? You'll call me if anything happens won't you?"
"Of course. Whatever you did to him, you have a right to know if something goes bad."
You and Mikey take the long walk home. As you pass one of the alleyways, a man, a little taller than Mikey, grabs Mikey by the shoulder.
"Betcha think you're real clever, don't ya? Well let me tell you, you're not getting away with what you've done to Billie." Before Mikey can say a word, he's on the floor, being punched and kicked by a group of men all about your age.
"And let that be a lesson to you."
Mikey sits up and groans as he spits out a mouthful of blood and about three teeth. His eyes are bruised and he's got a cut on his forehead.
"Oh my fucking god, Mikey, are you ok?"
"Um... been better, just help me to get up, I need a drink." You grab him around the waist and haul him from the floor. He lets out a moan again, and you lift his t-shirt to see that his stomach is almost black with bruising.
You arrive home to find Gerard slumped on the floor. As Mikey sits in the lounge, you try and wake Gerard.
"Gee, man, wake up."
"He he he. I think I had a bit much to drink. He he..." And with that he falls asleep again. You cover him with a blanket and put a pillow under his face before going to sort Mikey out.
"Ouch! Mind out!"
"It's gonna sting a little, just let me see to it."
"Can't you just kiss it better, it'd be a lot nicer for me..." Mikey giggles as you plant a couple of kisses on his lips and fall to his side. He wraps his arm around you and holds you tight.
"Oh well, at least I've still got you."
"Yeah, well, I'm not gonna leave you, I love you."
