Fight, chapter 2
"Dude give me back my fucking guitar! That's not how you play it. Damn," Natalie snapped at one of her best friends, Kelly, who was pissing her off lately. She corrected Kelly's version of Minority.
"Oh.. Well I didn't fuck it up too bad.. Hey I think I heard your doorbell" Kelly informed her friend.
"Yeah, you didn't fuck it up tooooo bad. Haha. Ya I think it might be your dad." Natalie replied, hoping it was her dad as she hoped down the stairs to answer the door.
To Natalie's fortune, it was Kelly's dad, so Kelly gathered all the things she had brought with her and left Natalie's house.
When the door was shut Natalie looked around her house, seeing nothing. Then down at her dog. She sighed to herself and trotted back up the stairs and back into the 'music room.' She stared blankly at her guitar for a moment but decided she did really feel like playing right now. Her little yorkie-poo (Yorkshire terrier and a poodle) dog who was still following her looked up at her and cocked his head to the side. She shrugged her shoulders to him showing she didn't know what they could do.
Natalie basically lived on her computer, so that's where she went. She walked down the stain covered stairs that led to her freezing cement floored basement. She strode into the newly dry walled and painted and carpeted room that the computer was in.
She was on the computer for a few hours when she heard her mother come into the house so she decided to go and say hi.
"Hey mom.. Where were you all day?" Natalie said, glancing at the clock that now read 4:23.
"I've been outside." Her mother replied.
"Wait. Where were you when I woke up?" Natalie still questioned her mother.
"Oh I was at court." Her mom replied and sighed.
"But wasn't that at 8:30?"
"No.. it was at 1:30. They just fucked up. And now your dad can come to the house when I'm not here."
"Ughhh. Great. Wait. Did you go to work?" Natalie's asked her mom. Her mother just set down her coffee cup and shook her head no. "But then are you gonna get fired?"
"No, Rhonda told them I was sick." Natalie's mom informed her. Rhonda was Natalie's moms sister.
Natalie sat the plaid green couch and watched her mom pace the hardwood floor of their kitchen. She listened as her mom was mumbling some stuff to herself about being depressed and about Natalie's father and all the pain from her accident.
Those thoughts made Natalie think. They made her depressed. So she went to take a shower, she turned on Green Day really loud and stood in the shower, crying. She closed her eyes and sat in the shower. But she was no longer in a shower, she was standing in the rain, hidden away from the rest of the world. She was standing on a deserted street back in her home town and just letting the rain wash her worries away.
It was like a movie playing in her mind. The Green Day music in the background, well that was the movie soundtrack and the film was spinning around Natalie. The music was playing to let the viewers think, the words in the songs told a story. And the story they were telling, well that was the story of Natalie's life. Even if the words didn't make any sense to what they meant to be there or why they were chosen, It didn't matter. All that mattered right then was the rain washing the worries away.
The song changed and Natalie snapped back into reality.
