Fight, chapter 4

*** 2002 ***

A 9 year old Natalie was getting ready to move with her family. They were moving away from the shit hole where she grew up. She didn't really think it was a shit hole, but everyone else did.
"Hey! Who ya ridin' with?" Natalie's mom popped in to ask her.
"Sissy." She replied looking around the empty office.
"Ok, well were gonna be leaving soon."
"Alright." Natalie picked up her sunglasses, that didn't fit her, and walked out the door as she put them on. "Goodbye Dixon... Hello Colorado.." She said to herself.. Then sighed. Was this where she was really meant to go?

"Dude.. Its freezing in here. I like it!" Natalie said to her older sister. Natalie did love the cold. Most people like the heat, but Natalie was one for the cold.
"Ok. Well anyway, were going to be stopping soon. Do you want to ride with mom or dad?"
"Uhm... Ya I guess."

Natalie was riding in the huge U-haul van with her father, and listening to him mumble and cuss under his breath every second. Her father always had a serious anger problem, Natalie just learned to live with it. It did her quite good actually, she wasn't afraid of anyone or anything, she knew how to refuse to be talked down on and to fight back.
"Dad, I'm going to ride with mom next time we stop." Natalie informed her father.
"Ok.. This truck is a pain in the ass. I think were going to be stopping sometime soon anyways.. This thing eats gas.."

Arriving at Natalie's aunt Lisa's house was a little strange. Sure, she had been there many times in the part, but this time.. This time, there was no home to go back to. This was now home. The hot, dry Colorado weather was however, refreshing, from the humid sticky Illinois weather. Natalie's dog, ran out of the car and took off like he owned the place. Such a difference from how he used to act, all shy and skittish.

'Guitar huh... Hmm... I wish I could play guitar.. Is that only for boys though? Well.. I don't care.. I want to play guitar. Now how to tell mom... ' Natalie thought to herself as she discovered her cousins guitars. 'Sounds... Interesting.. I like interesting.. So, guitar it is.. '
