Wrong 'Em Boyo!, chapter 1

Sheena knew she couldn't live there any more, she couldn't take her parents telling her what to do. She never did like being told what to do and when to do it.

She had to leave - and it would be that night. She knew she could go live with her band mates. Her bands drummer, Kayla, had her own place that she shared with another band named Sweet Children. Sheena had never met the band, but had heard of them. Kayla's mom's friend owned the house, the other band had just moved in a week ago from what Sheena had heard. Kayla and the bass player, Jen, moved in three weeks ago and was actually happy to have them living there.

Kayla said the owner wouldn't mind if she moved in, as long as they sound-proofed the place before they practiced. Sheena would heve to sneek down to the phone and call Kayla to come help her with the stuff, she knew Kayla would be happy if she decided to come live with them.

Sheena stood up off of the floor and crept over to the door. Her mother was a light sleeper, if she woke up either her dad would to or he wouldn't even notice. She twisted the door knob all the way to make sure it didn't click when she opened it She slowly pulled the door open just enough so she could get out with out making any noise.

Listening for any sign of movement, she sttod in the hall, her back pressed up against the wall. Nothing, everything was dead silent. Sheena crept down the hallway and tightened every muscle in her body making sure not to make a sound going down the stairs. Well... that plan failed. She knew that as long as any amount of weight was on the step it would creak somehow, this time it didn't make a sound loud enough to do that. Sheena walked over to the phone and picked it up, she sat down in a chair and dialed the phone number. A guy picked it up, he was probably from Sweet Children.

"Hello?" he said.
"Hey, uhh, is Kayla there?" she asked. Knowing Kayla she had to be up.
"Yeah. Hold on a second". She heard him say Kayla's name and heard Kayla on the other end.
"Hello?" Kayla said.
"Kayla, it's Sheena"
"Oh, hey! Have you decided to move in yet?"
"Actually, that's why I called you"
"Now, though? It's like 11 p.m."
"I know but I can't take it any more!"
"You want me to come help you?"
"That's sort of the idea..."
"Okay, we'll be over in ten minutes"
"Thanks, Kayla"
"No prob, see ya in ten".

They both hung up and Sheena went into the bathroom to get her things. She crept back up the stairs and into her room. Sheena pulled a big black trunk out of her closet and dragged it into the middle of the room. She threw her things in it and pulled out all her drawers. After all of her clothes were in the trunk she grabbed a backpack and put all her record in to it. Sheena looked at her guitar case and opened it, Sheena gazed at her new guitar that she could call her own. For years she had either played one of her dads or her brothers when he wasn't home, but after she saved up her money from working at the record store, she bought her own. It was a '55 Gibson Les Paul Jr. with a single dog-ear pick up, vitage sunburst color. It was never played on an amp yet. Sheena's Marshall was over at Kayla's, it was the bigger onewith a head and a cab, so she wanted to see how it sounded on that one before she tried it on the belt amp. She put her belt amp in with her records and threw the cords in with it. Her pedals were also over Kayla's so she didn't have to take the heavy stuff.

Sheena closed her guitar case and sat on the floor. She grabbed her extra sheets and her Black Sabbath blanket and waited.

Not even two minutes later her bedroom window slid open and Kayla noisily clambered into the room. "Be quite! If my mom and dad find out, I'm dead". Kayla signaled for everyone else to come in and they did it a lot quieter. The next one through was a guy. He was tall and thin, he had shaggy hair that seemed to be blonde and he had very muscular arms. The next one through was Jen, she nearly tripped but the tall guy caught her. If anyone fell, someone was bound to wake up. The next guy through was short, he had blonde messed up, sort of fluffy hairwas muscular and was very animated, he had a goofy smile on his face and seemed to be the clown of the group. The last guy through had dreadlocks, he was average height and was the thinnest of the group.Kaylawalked back and forth in front of them like a drill sargent. She turned to Sheena and pointed to the tallest one, "This is Mike, he's the bass player of Sweet Children" Kayla annouced. "This is Frank, but every one calls him Tre Cool, Tre for short, he's the drummer" Kayla said pointing to the short guy, she pointed to the guy with the dreadlocks "This is Billie Joe, he's the guitar player and lead singer". The guys all nodded like soldiers when their names were said. "Guys this is our frontman and lead guitarist, Sheena". Sheena looked at them, "Well, they're well trained" Sheena said sarcastically. Kayla smiled and looked at the stuff on the floor. "We got an extra matress at the place, we've been saving it for ya".
Sheena hugged Kayla, "Thanks" she said. "I like the posters" Mike said. "We don't got any of these ones". Sheena looked at her walls. "You want me to bring some?" she asked. "Bring 'em all" Billie Joe said. She nodded and started to take them down. She had three Sex Pistols posters, two Clash posters, three Ramones posters, a Who poster, a Beatles poster, a Van Halen poster and a Black Sabbath poster. Sh carefully handed them tto Kayla. Kayla handed some to Jen and Sheena got on her backpack with the records in it. Mike and Billie Joe lifted the trunk and Tre carried the guitar case.

Sheena grabbed her blanket and pillow and thought of the best way to get out with out making a lot of noise. But it also needed to be fast. "Okay, I got it" Sheena said. "Someone climb through and stand outside. Billie Joe and Mike will go out next, just in case someone does wake up, we would hear them long before we saww them, if they're in the back theymight get caught since its harded to get themselves and a trunk through a window. If they need help someone can help from the front and the back. Then the last people will go through". everyone nodded. It seemed like it would work. "I'll go through first" Tre said. He put the case down by the window and crawled through. As they were doing this Sheena wrote her parents a note so they wouldn't call on a search. They might even be happy. Mike went out next. They balanced the trunk on the window sill as Billie pushed it through. He crawled out and then Kayla and Jen went out. Sheena made sure she had everything and slipped out into the night. They closed the window and calked away.

They walked in the shadows, making sure not to be seen they crossed the street and were finally on the block of the house. It was only three blocks away from Sheena's house. They reached the house and walked down into the basement. Sheena had been there many times before the guys moved in and knew the place pretty good. It had two small bathrooms, a small kitchen, a decent size living room, a bedroom and two other rooms that are probably know filled with band equipment. "Okay" Kayla said. "You know very well no one has a great bed, so you know which one is your right? You remember". Sheena nodded. "Where have you been?" a voice said. They all turned around to see the owner, Ms. Trigger. "We had to get our friend" Kayla said "She couldn't taked her house any more. Ms. Trigger knew who Sheena was and smiled. "Well... okay she can stay" she said "As long as she's not to much to handle, moving in at this hour... she's getting there. But since I know her I'll let her go, Shadow Kid, that's what I'm gonna call you" she said. Ms, Trigger walked back up the stairs. Everyone looked around, guilty. That night it didn' take long to unpack. The bedroom only fit two beds. It was a decent sized room, too. But there were four dressers. Shadow Kid as she was now called shared a dresser with Kayla. Her bed was in the living room. They put up the posters in different rooms and Kayla went to bed in the room. Kayla failed to mention her and Mike were going out. So they slept in the same room.

Bilie Joe and Shadow Kid didn't exactly get along but they were gonna have to. It was gonna be a little rough living with those two. But Billie saw something in her, he sort of liked her. He wouldn't want her to know, not yet at least. She might be hard to get along with, but Billie Joe still thought she was beautiful.
