Full Of Rage... Maybe Forever, chapter 2
At lunch that day, Sheena had told everyone about how Billie Joe had hit her, and told her to kiss his ass, and everyone was irate. People that Billie Joe would normally talk to, would run away from him, and act like they were scared. Only Mike stayed around.
"Don't worry about it, Bill. We will just have to make her pay, if you catch me."
Billie Joe didn't look up from his lunch.
"Yeah... "
"Did you have anything in mind?"
Billie Joe looked at him, and thought for a moment.
"We don't really have anything to go on, Mike, or it would be a good idea."
Mike pretended to look stunned.
"I can't believe what I am hearing; our own Billie Joe, admitting defeat? C'mon, you never let anything like that stop you before."
Billie Joe thought about it and smiled.
"Your right. We'll just have to be creative."
"Now that is the Billie Joe I know."
Mike and Billie Joe spent the rest of the lunch creating some stupid little plan. It was pretty weak, but it was the best they had. They knew that Sheena would go insane if someone thought that she had liked Billie Joe, and that is just what they planned to tell people.
It was after school, in the hallway in front of Sheena's locker. Billie Joe was having trouble keeping a strait face, but kept his cool long enough to make his way over to her. Mike was watching around the corner.
As Billie Joe walked over to her and her many friends, he put on his best, "Winning" smile. Many people started to gasp like they were afraid, and Sheena's best friend gave him an evil look.
"Hey baby."
Sheena gave him a disgusted look.
"Excuse me?"
"Look, Sheena, I say we just stop all of the fighting, and just be together like we should."
Much to Billie Joe's liking, Sheena was starting to blush.
"Ummm, I don't know what you are talking about." And she turned around to her locker, to put her books away.
"Aw, c'mon. I have decided to accept it, and you should to. You don't have to pretend to hate me anymore."
She turned around, with an evil glare on her face, and for a minute, they both thought she was going to hit him this time. It would be appropriate.
"What are you talking about? You are crazy. I DO hate you!!" She was fuming. Not to mention, she wasn't going to let him get away with this any longer. But, he did.
"What? What do you mean? That's not how it was backstage last night." He knew he had hit her limit. The thought made him sneak an "I-got-you-so-good" smile. He was especially pleased with himself for the fact that the girls around them were starting to giggle.
Sheena took another step towards him, and there was that feeling again.
"Nothing happened back stage." She folded her arms and smirked, "Just the fact that you turned into an insane maniac, and attacked me." She thought she was right back where they started, and she had Billie Joe. Billie Joe disregarded that. For he knew, that he was just getting started.
"What? You didn't tell them? No wonder you are hiding your feelings. I mean I wouldn't want them to know either."
Sheena's heartbeat quickened, and she began to wonder where he was heading with this. If it wasn't for other people being around, she would have begged for him to stop. But then again, he was doing this because other people were around.
"What?"
"What happened, Billie Joe?"
Gasps and giggles started to float around, as people started prodding Billie Joe with questions.
Billie Joe held up his hands.
"Ok, ok. I'll tell."
Sheena opened her mouth in protest, but Billie Joe beat her.
"Well, it all started when I first go there. She was all, 'O Billie Joe, I didn't know you played guitar. Can I try to play it?......... I don't think I am doing it right. Can you teach me?' And then she was starting to twirl her hair around and all. It was starting to get a little awkward, and she was moving really fast."
Girls were now laughing, and flashing Sheena "How-could-you" looks. Nevertheless, Billie Joe continued, not quite finished.
"And then, before she went on, she was like, 'This is for you, Billie Joe' and blew me a kiss. Then she quickly gave me a kiss on the cheek before I went on and said, 'Good luck, Babe.'"
Sheena was blushing more than she had ever in her life, and her bottom lip was starting to quiver. She couldn't believe he was doing this. She then realized she had hit some nerve when she said something sarcastic last night. Otherwise, he wouldn't be doing this. Well, that and the rumors she had started.
Billie Joe noticed her reaction, and thought for about a fraction of a second about stopping, but decided against it.
"And then, after she won, she was almost in tears that I hadn't. I told her congratulations, and she took it way to seriously."
He was about to end with what he considered, the "Big Finale."
"And then she said, 'Well, Billie Joe, I just might give you this trophy if you do something for me. Come bye later.' And that was basically why I hit.." He didn't get to finish. Sheena had run away in tears, and only her friend, Jane ran after her. Everyone else kept peppering him with questions, and Billie Joe didn't feel bad at all. She had caused him a lot of pain, and he wasn't going to forgive her.
Once everyone had left, Billie Joe walked over to the corner of the hallway, and found Mike almost in a coma of laughter.
"That was awesome. You should totally be an actor."
"Yeah, it was pretty good, wasn't it?"
*About a week later*
That whole week after her and Billie Joe's run in, people were questioning Sheena without stopping. She hadn't regained much of her popularity, and even her high school sister couldn't make that change. At the end of the week, Billie Joe was the "Big Man on Campus" if you will, and Sheena was a social outcast. Needless to say, things had totally turned around. This time, Sheena only had one friend, Jane. Just like Billie Joe with Mike. People had totally forgotten the rumors based on Billie Joe losing it at the talent show. The school was talking about something a little different this time.
On Friday, an announcement hit the student body that changed things a little; for both of their favors. Sheena's family was moving to the other end of California. It had nothing to do with what had happened with her and Billie Joe, but the timing was a little too right. It was actually about her father being transferred to a different bank in California. Though, Billie Joe took this opportunity to finish what he had started.
"You know she is only leaving because she can't show her face around here anymore right?" is what Billie Joe would tell people. This only made Sheena's unspoken anger boil.
The last day she would be at school, many people, including Billie Joe, confronted her at the front door, where she waited for her parents to pick her up.
"What's the matter, Sheena?"
"Why are you leaving all of a sudden?"
"Did Billie Joe break your heart?"
Everyone in the group was taunting her with questions, and she was desperately holding back tears. She took one step toward Billie Joe and didn't say a word.
Billie Joe smirked.
"I think you should know by now, that you shouldn't mess with me, so don't think that you can just run away from all-"
This time she didn't hold back. She gave him his own slap back, and stood her ground. He had ruined a lot of things for her, but he wasn't going to stay in her mind any longer.
Billie Joe was incredibly shocked, but part of him knew, the whole time, that she would do it one day.
"Go to Hell, Billie Joe." And she turned around and left for the last time at the school.
