Baby You Can Drive My Car, chapter 1

Layla was sitting in what looked like a very expensive hotel room all by herself, watching the television intently. She was anxious to see her boyfriend's band which was supposed to be set playing in only a couple of minutes. She knew it was important for Tre, hell for the whole band. It was the Grammy's! So why didn't she go?

She didn't really know why she didn't want to come with Tre. It's just that when he asked her, it was so sudden, how could she possibly go? She didn't have a dress, she was definitely not the movie star, glamour type. She hated having her picture taken, in fact, she hated any attention towards her unless it was from Tre. Of course she felt horrible, when she saw the look of disappointment in Tre's usually light hearted, goofy lovable face.

She regretted not going, but then there was the side of her that felt fear of being exposed. All those cameras, lights, all eyes on you. How nerve wracking that must be, thought Layla. She sighed to herself, as she let it go. What is the point of thinking about something that has already happened? You can't do anything about it! She noticed that her worrying had almost cost her missing the introduction to Green Day's song.

She smiled as she saw Billie Joe and Mike do their usual cool tricks with the guitar (well mostly Billie Joe jumping around like an idiot, but a cute idiot, mind you). She grinned proudly as she saw the close up of Tre banging his drums like a maniac. Man, he was so damn good. How can that just come so naturally to a person? Layla was getting a little lovesick now. She missed Tre. Which is a little pathetic, I mean the guy had only been gone for up to two hours and she was already feeling the emptiness she felt without him. Was that unusual in a relationship? Were they even in a real relationship?

They had only been together a few months now. Layla laughed at the thought of how she met Tre. He was so adorable and charming she just couldn't say no to him. Well, fuck who could? She reminisced of that night when she first caught sight of him...

-November of 2004- (FLASHBACK...<man I hate doing this things they sound retarded, but oh well, please go on with the story, don't mind me, fuck I probably ruined it, ahh keep going it's good>!)

"I bet you a nickel...that you can't hit the bulls eye and every time you miss it you have to take a shot," Billie Joe declared, folding his arms, eyeing Tre.

"Aw, fuck Billie, just a nickel? Aren't I worth more than that to you?" Tre joked.

Mike laughed as he rolled his eyes, "Yeah, Billie. Don't you remember that time in the shower when you told me-"

"Hey what! When was this supposed shower taking place, because I was never informed of-"

"Are you going to do it or not!" Billie Joe chimed in, trying to hold back his laughter.

Tre shrugged his shoulders dramatically and took the dart from Billie's hand. He placed it carefully in his hand as he focused one eye on the dart board and the other on the dart, itself.

"Watch and learn bitches!" Tre said as he let the dart fly from his hand, and off it went aiming right towards the bulls eye. BAM! The pesky little blue dart jammed right into the middle of the bulls eye, and stuck. Billie Joe groaned in defeat and frustration as he let the fact that Tre had just kicked his ass royally at darts. No way could he beat that.

"Well I for one, didn't see that one coming," Mike commented smoothly, as Billie Joe glared at Mike for a second, before he turned his attention towards Tre's little fit of "happiness."

"HA! What now Billie! That's right, I want my damn nickel you evil little...thing...," Tre trailed off as he lost what he was going to say at "thing." Billie Joe looked at him confused for a second, before finally giving in and handing him the nickel he "deserved" so much.

"All right! I'm going to go play that pin ball machine, later you mortal fools!" Tre laughed hysterically as he walked, or more like scarily skipped towards the pinball machine the backroom.

Billie Joe smiled and said, "too bad the pinball machines need a quarter...not a nickel..."

Mike just eyed Billie Joe and muttered, "...no wonder I'm not getting laid..."

---

As Tre excitedly walked over to the pinball machine, he saw that there was already a person standing there. A girl. No, no a woman. Even though Tre could only see the back of her, he felt a warm feeling surface in his throat. She had the silkiest hair, the darkest shade of blonde you could get with random little tiny braids scattered all over her hair. He smiled to himself as he walked up to her.

At first Layla thought some one was staring at her. She could feel their eyes on her like a magnet to metal. She brushed it off, but when she tried she felt a warm feeling surface in her throat. What was going on with her? She jumped a little as she saw a shadow, but then a body made their way around her so they were leaning on the side of the pin ball machine. He watched her play for a few seconds, before she got too nervous to continue and stopped.

He looked up to see her face staying right at his. Her piercing green eyes ignited with wonder and vulnerability. He felt himself go weak in the knees. No girl has ever made him feel like this before. He doesn't even know her and all ready he feels like a 16 year old kid again asking out the hottest girl in school.

"...I'm sorry...would you like to play?" She finally spoke up. Her voice was sweet, but very soft, that made him perk up his ears. She seemed so shy.

"Oh...no I quite liked watching you," he smiled at her and winked.

His blue eyes made her heart melt. He was so adorable, why was he winking at her? She all ready knew that she liked him, which is weird, but she didn't think anything of it.

"I....I don't know. If I go on, I'll feel like I'm hogging the game," she joked a little, as she smiled slightly. Tre caught this and his mind seemed to go into "Iwanttofuckingkisshersobad" overdrive, but he held it in as best he could.

"No way! Trust me if you get me on this thing, it would take the jaws of life to claw me away," at this Tre acted out as if he were being clawed away using his hands. She giggled at his impression which made Tre feel even more happier to entertain this girl.

"Haha...ya...so what's your name?" Tre finally asked.

"Oh...uh...," she blushed a little before saying, "Layla."

"Tre," said pulling her into a hug. She wasn't expecting that, which made her even more excited to get to know this guy.

"HEY TRE! What the fuck are you doin' man, makin' out with that damn thing, get your ass over here we ordered some cheeches," Billie Joe shouted from across the room, not noticing that Tre was in a "very interesting" conversation. Tre rolled eyes, he really wanted to get to know this Layla girl, but time was just not having it.

"Well, Layla, I gotta leave ya!" Tre tried to make it rhyme so it wouldn't be so bad, but it just made things even more awkward.

Layla looked down, not trying to show the sadness in her eyes as she finally looked up with her best smile and said "Ya I guess you do. Well...uh..bye..."

"Bye," Tre said simply, saluting the girl, making her laugh this time. Wow, her laugh was infectious...and amazing, thought Tre. Before he could do anything else he felt himself knock into hard wall as his face turned to happiness to confusion.....

"Oh my god are you ok?" Layla said full of shock with a serious look on her face. She was dabbing a tissue on Tre's upper nose area. It was bleeding a little, but not very much.

"Now that you're here," He finally spoke up the words he had been meaning to say all night. Layla stopped and cautiously looked at him. Was he being serious? His face sure had it written all out, that he was.

She smiled before saying, "That was really cheesy." They both laughed before taking in each other's smile.
