A New Beginning, chapter 11
"It's Justin. He's been stabbed and died." she said before bursting out into tears.
"Oh my god. That's terrible. Who would have done a thing like that? I'm just glad I set things straight with him an apologized to him." I said as pulled her into a hug. She buried her head into my chest and started crying into me. I just sat there rubbing her back and soothingly talking to her to try and calm her down.
"Why-why would any-anyone do th-that to hi-him? He was all-always so nice." she said between sobs.
"I know sweetie. He was so cool when I talked to him on the phone. I was really hopping that he and I could be buds but well..." I said as but started to drift off.
"Th-that's just su-such a fucked up way to-to go." she said before completely breaking down and started to sob heavily into my chest.
I just sat the rubbing her back a whispering into her ear. We sat like that for over an hour. She ended up crying herself to sleep. I lied her down on her bed and covered her with a blanket.
I went back home and told dad that I was going to spend the night just to make sure that she was ok.
***Billie Joe's POV***
Joey came running home and told me that he wanted to spend the night over at Melissa's just to make sure that she was ok.
"O. K. Joey just don't do anything that I wouldn't do." I said as he ran upstairs.
"That shouldn't be too hard since you do everything." he said from his room.
"Ya on second thought just keep it in your pants." I called up.
"Ya will do." he said while running out of the house with a clean change of clothes.
"That poor girl she never seems to get a break." I said while going to the fridge to grab a beer.
"Who never gets a break?" Adie asked while scaring the shit out of me.
"Holy crap Adrienne just give me a hear attach why don't you." I said while closing the fridge door.
"Well who never gets a break?" she asked again.
"Oh Melissa. Now one of her friend was stabbed at a concert." I said while sitting on the couch.
"Oh my god. That poor girl. I hope she doesn't do anything drastic." Adie said while sitting next to me.
"Don't worry Joey's over there to make sure." I said while taking a swig of my beer.
***Joey's POV***
I went back and crawled in bed with her and wrapped my arms around her. I was almost asleep when Melissa woke up screaming "Oh my god you sick bastard you fucking killed him!"
"Melissa. It's o. K. I'm here." I said sitting up and pulling her into a tight hug.
***Melissa's POV***
When I woke up Joey was by my side. He pulled me into a tight hug and told me everything would be alright. I felt so safe when he hugged me. I didn't want him to let go of me. I buried my face into he chest and started sobbing again. I felt so stupid. My mom always told me that crying was for the week and that I shouldn't cry, but at that moment I did really give a fuck what my mom said.
"Thanks Joey." I mumbled into his chest.
"For what?" he asked.
"For being here for me. I don't know what I would have done if you weren't here." I said calming down a bit. He held me for five more minutes before I was completely calmed down. I went to lye back down and Joey took his arms back from around. I wanted him to hold onto me so I took his arms and wrapped them around me. I soon fell asleep in the safety of his arms.
When I woke up Joey was already up and trying to do up his tie but had no luck. I laughed at him and got up and tied it for him.
"O. K. Why the hell do chicks know how to tie ties and dudes don't that just doesn't make any fucking sense he said following me downstairs.
"Cause chicks are the superior of the human race." I said laughing while opening the fridge to revile a carton of juice and some fruit. We had some fruit for breakfast and went back over to Joeys.
When we got there I went right up to the guest bedroom were I was staying and turned on Boulevard of Broken dreams and just thought about Justin and how he was so young. After about an hour there was a knock on the door.
***Joey's POV***
I swear to god I'm gonna kill dad for writing that song if I hear it one more time I thought to myself as I knocked on the door. I heard a muffled 'come in' from the other side of the door.
"Hey Mel I know you miss Justin and all but he wouldn't want you to sit here and mope around." I said while shutting of the c. D.
"Ya I know." she said sitting up. Just then I noticed her song book lying open on the dresser. There was a song called 'Thinking of you' on the front page.
I wanna run away and hide,

"Hey why don't just me and you go out for supper tonight?" I asked. "Mom and dad are going to be at a party and Jakob is staying at a friends house." I said hopping she would get what I mean.
"O. K. Sure." she said springing up.

We went out for supper just at a casual restaurant. When we got back we were all over each other. When went upstairs to my room and I threw her on my bed.
"Joey I think...."
