A New Beginning, chapter 6
***Melissa's POV***
Shit. I better go and get ready for school or at least get out of the room before Billie comes and sees that Joey's in here too. I thought to myself as I quietly got out of be and slowly opened the door. It opened with a loud screech. I looked around noticing that no one woke up from it and walked down the stairs and over to my house. I ran upstairs to my room and went threw my morning routines again and Joey came and got me and we walked to school again.
"Hey. Mom said you could just bring over like a bag of clothes so you don't have to go over to your house every morning and get ready. She said it wouldn't be a problem." Joey said as we walked out the door.
"O. K. I'll do that tonight when I get back from Estelle's house."
"Kay." and with that he gave me a peck on the cheek. We walked the rest of the way to school talking about random stuff and about what teachers I thought were asses and him giving my the random peck on the cheek.
"O. K. You want something don't you?" I asked after he kissed me for about the 20th time in five minutes.
"What ever do you mean." he said with a mock hurt face on.
"You want something. You didn't finish your math did you." I said since math was the only subject we had together this semester.
"Ya I didn't finish it. Could you help me at lunch?"
"Sure why the hell not. It only took me about 20 minutes to do it." I said as we walked into the school. "Kay well I'm gonna go and meet up with Estelle for homeroom." I said before I gave him a peck on the cheek and ran off to meet up with Estelle and Ramona.
"Hey Melissa. So ya coming to my house after school?" Estelle asked as we walked around for a bit.
"Ya. You sure you're parents won't mind?" I asked not wanting to intrude or anything.
"Well actually it's just my dad and ya he doesn't really care much." she said as the bell went.
"Well I'll see you guys later." called Ramona as she ran off to home room as did we. We made it just in time.
The rest of the morning went fine and I met up with Joey at lunch and gave him my math textbook. He copied out all the work from it while eat some crap food from the cafeteria.
"How the hell can you eat that sick shit from the cafeteria. Like honestly." I said in disgust as I was trying to figure out what the hell it was.
"Iunno I just do I guess." he said as I pulled out a salad from my backpack. The bell soon went as we ran off to math class.
"I trust everyone has done their homework." said Mr. Kunz as he gave an icy stare at Joey.
"For once I did do my homework." said Joey.
"And Melissa how did you do with the assignment?" he asked.
"Just fine." I said as I started scribbling down some stuff on a paper.
"Hey what's that?" Joey whispered to me. I quickly covered it up.
"Oh it's nothing. Really." I lied.
"Oh come on."
"Fine. It's a song in progress. And no you can't see it." I said as I shut my notebook and started on the next assignment.
The rest of the afternoon when by smoothly. At the end of the day me and Ramona ran from our cooking class to meet up with Estelle and we went to her house, but not before Joey attacked me for a good bye kiss. I quickly gave him a peck on the cheek and ran off to join Estelle and Ramona.
"You're not just going out with him just so you can get to his dad right. 'Cause that poor boy has had his heart broken so many times before by girls that just wanna use him." Ramona said as we headed of to Estelle's.
"Oh god no. First Billie is married. Second he has Joey and Jakob. Third there is a 20 year difference. And fifth Joey is the perfect one for me. He already asked me about that and I told him the truth. I know you guys just wanna look out for him since you guys are friends and all." I explained.
"Ya we just don't wanna see him get hurt again that's all." Estelle said just avoiding a tree obviously not paying attention.
"Don't worry I wouldn't do anything to hurt him at all." I said as we arrived at Estelle's. It was a huge house and it looked awesome.
"Hey daddy I'm home." called Estelle.
"Hey sweetie how was school." called her dad. Just then I saw Mike come from around the corner. Now I remember. Ramona is Tre's daughter and Estelle is Mike's.
"Oh it was fine. This is our new friend Melissa." Estelle said as she pointed at me.
"Umm.... What should I call you dad?" I asked not knowing what to do or say. It was just odd.
"Oh just call me Mike." he said as he extended his hand.
"Kay. Hey Mike." I said as I shook his hand. We went and sat down on the couch and watched TV and talked. "Oh shit I better go. I hope Billie doesn't go all dad on my ass." I said as I sprang up from the couch noticing that it was 5:50.
"What?" Mike asked obviously hearing me.
"Oh ya. My mom is gone for like 2 weeks and my dad kinda died on Sunday. So ya I'm kinda living at Billie's."
"Aww I'm sorry to hear that." Mike said as I ran out that door.
"I'm sorry I'm home late. We lost track of time." I said as I came in the house at 5:55.
"It's alright. You're just in time for supper." said Adrienne from the kitchen.
"Oh score vegetarian lasagna. I love it." I said as I walked into the kitchen and started setting the table.
"Same with Billie." she said pulling it out of the oven.
"What about me." he asked as he came into the kitchen as well.
"Holy shit just scare the crap out of my. I was just saying vegetarian lasagna is your favorite too."
"Oh I see. Boy's time for dinner!" Billie yelled from the bottom of the stairs. They both came racing down the stairs.
"Ha I win." said Joey as he sat down at the table.
"Hey be nice to him his little." I said sitting down.
"Ya be nice to me." Jakob mimicked.

The next few days went awesome. Jakob got his guitar and played it non stop. It's really cute watching him play though. He wants to be like his dad so much.
