Dry Ice, chapter 10
It was Thursday night, the day before my birthday. The rest of the week had gone pretty well. My teacher had called my parents, but they didnt get as mad as I had expected. I was hanging out in my room, reading a magazine, when the phone rang.
"Hello?" I said, answering it.
"Hey, Allie! Its Lauren." Lauren said.
"Oh, hey! How are you?" I said.
"Pretty good. Guess what? My familys coming to Berkeley this weekend to visit some reletives, and they said if it was alright with you and your parents, I could spend the night with you on Friday." Lauren told me.
"Oh my god! Really? Hang on, let me go ask my parents." I said. I ran downstairs and asked my mom and dad if Lauren could spend the night tomorrow. They said yes, and I quickly thanked them and ran back upstairs. "THEY SAID YES!" I practically yelled into the phone.
"Seriously? This is awsome!" Lauren said.
"Yeah, I know. And the best part is, tomorrows my birthday."
"Uh huh. Thats why this worked out so well. I already have your present." Lauren said.
"Aww. Thanks. You know how I said Billie had started a band?"
"Yeah."
"Well, they have their first gig tomorrow night. I'm going to see them. Now you can come too!" I said.
"Awsome! I cant wait to see Billie Joe again."
"You can. And you can meet Mike! And our other friends, Tre and Adrienne. Adrienne is Billie Joe'sgirlfriend."
"Cool. I have been waiting to meet Mike..." Lauren said. I laughed.
"You'll like him." I said. We talked for about ten more minutes, and then we hung up. I was so excited. I couldn't concentrate on anything else, so I decided to call Mike. I picked up my phone again and dialed Mike'scell phone number.
"Hello?" Mike answered.
"Hey, its me. Guess what? My friend Lauren is coming over tomorrow for my birthday!" I said.
"Really?! Thats great, I cant wait to meet her." Mike said.
"Yeah." I said. All of the sudden, I heard could here Tre and Billie Joe talking in the backround.
"MIKE! WHAT COLOR FROS-" Tre screamed, but then Billie cut him off.
"Tre! Be quiet! Mike'son the phone." Billie said loudly.
"Both of you shut up. He's talking to Allie." I heard Adriennes voice in the backround too. Wait. What was Adrienne doing there?
"REALLY! OOOH, HI ALLIE!" Tre yelled.
"SHUT UP TRE!" I heard Adrienne and Billie say at the same time.
"Mike, where are you?" I asked.
"Umm, at Billie's" Mike said.
"Oh."
"Yeah. Well, thats great about Lauren coming. Now she can come to our gig at Gilman." Mike said.
"Yeah. That will be cool." I said.
"Okay, I gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow, alright?" Mike said.
"Bye."
"I love you."
"Love you too." I said and hung up the phone. I flopped down on my bed and sighed. I was feeling kind of pissed off. All of my friends were at Billie'shouse without me. I wouldn't of been mad if it was just the guys, but Adrienne was there too! And what were they doing there? I layed on my bed thinking for a while, until I finally fell asleep.
"Hello?" I said, answering it.
