All My Fault, chapter 1
I walked in the door from my friend Paige's house and saw my mother at the kitchen table, crying. I ran over.
"Mom...what's wrong Mom? Mom?"I asked. She looked at me an handed me an envelope. I opened it. It read,
To my soon to be ex-wife Carol,
I can't take your constant bitching anymore. I'm divorcing you. Maybe if you got off your ass and got a job I wouldn't have to do this, but you had your chance. Now it's too late for you and that scumbag daughter of ours. Speaking of her, I think that once the jury finds out that you're unemployed and are going to be evicted in a month, they'll give me custody. I'm moving to another state and taking Haly with me. Have a nice life, bitch. I'll get the kid on sunday.
-Frank
This can't be happening. That was the first thing I thought. Then I thought of what I'd say to my father if he were there. That sparked an idea I wish I'd never gotten. Ignoring my consience, I picked up the phone and dialed my dad's number.
"Yeah?"he answered.
"Listen up, jackass." I said, having quite the mouth for a 5th grader,"I read your little love letter and I've got a couple of things to say to you. First of all, my name is spelled H-A-Y-L-I-E not H-A-L-Y. Second of all, don't you dare talk to my mother like that, you rotten piece of shit! What you're dong to her-no-US isn't right. You damn-well know that you and I hate each other, and you're only taking me with out of spite. Third of all, I can be quite a bitch when I want to. So now I'm going to show you how rotten this ''scumbag daughter of yours'' can be! And last but not least, I'm prepaired to make your life a living hell, so I hope you know what you've gotten yorself into."
I hung up. I dropped to my knees. The only thing I was thinking was, I can't believe I just said that to my father.
