Basket Case, chapter 5
Jason walked through the hospital doors, alongside Adrienne, fuming. How could she do this to him? She had slept with him almost every night, told him she loved him, and now she put a total and complete stop to it because Billie Joe had woken up. Jason didn't want to hurt him, not after what he'd been through, but.........................
They all stepped into the lift. Jason took hold of Adrienne's hand, but she snatched it away, and rushed out the doors as soon as they opened. The doctor was waiting outside the door for them when they got to Billie's room. As Adrienne went to go through the door he took hold of her shoulder, and guided her away to talk to her. Jason looked over at them for a moment, but dismissed it and went through to see his friend.
"Jason!" Billie exclaimed when he moved over the bed. "You're real.........." He hugged him and Jason laughed. He couldn't help it. "They're telling me we're not famous. That can't be true. We had people asking for our autographs, but then some dogs took over the world and.........." He trailed off, realising how stupid it sounded.
"We're not famous, no" Mike said gently, who was sat on the bed next to Billie Joe. "We were actually on the verge of it, but....... well........you got sick......but we don't blame you....."
"It was my fault?" Billie asked.
"No! Of course not, we wouldn't have made it anyway." Mike reassured him.
Billie nodded. "So........are you married Tré? Because I thought you were........"
"Well....I was. Twice." Tré answered. "None of them worked out. I got a son and a daughter out of it, though. Ramona and Frankito."
"Are you married, Mike?" Billie asked.
Tré looked uncomfortable, but Mike laughed. "My girlfriend left me tonight. Put a note on the bed and took off. Not really that bothered though, because in actual fact I hated her. She was moody."
Their conversation was stopped, by a noise from outside the room. Yelling. It was Adrienne.
"NO!" She was yelling. "Don't you bring me here like this, then tell me that! No!"
They all looked at each other, then Jason walked out of the door, over to her. She saw him, and collapsed in his arms, crying.
