Backstage Pass, chapter 1
Okay, so there I was, my very first Green Day concert, I couldn't beleive that I'd accually managed to get both great seats AND backstage passes!! That's right, BACKSTAGE PASSES! As I sat in my seat beside my best friend, Stevie, I could only imagine how great it was going to be. Finally, after what seemed like DAYS of waiting, the great Green Day stepped onstage and began playing American Idiot.
After about 10 or 11 more songs, Billie Joe said, "Okay, now I'm gonna make a band." The crowed went NUTS!! People all over were screaming "ME! ME! MEE!!" Billie Joe picked a drum player, a 17 year old boy named Danny, he was really great, then he picked his bass player, a 15 year old guy named, Aaron, he rocked! Then it was time for him to pick somebody to play lead guitar, on HIS accual guitar!! Oh my God you should have heard that crowd, they were all goin crazy, including me and Stevie. I had been playing guitar for only about 3 months, but I still would have died just to play with him.
Okay, so he was finally about to pick the lucky person to play his guitar. He started looking around and I couldn't belive it when he pointed at ME!! It was way too good to be true!! Which is why I should have known there was a mistake, he was pointing to the girl beside me..Well, she ran up so fast that she fell and hit her face onstage, she wasn't bleeding that bad, but a body gaurd led her out into the lobby. "Whoa." said Stevie, "How bad can you luck get?" "I know" I replied, "Thats gotta suck, I'd hate that to happen to me!" "Oh well!" I heard BILLIE JOE say, "Your gonna have to take that risk kid, come on up here!" "Oh my God!!" I shouted. Then Stevie gave me a HUGE hug and I ran up there.
I was pretty much hysterical while I was up ther, litterally inches away from the man I'd admired for years, and just feet away from my other two heroes. Billie Joe handed me his guitar and showed me the chords to play. Danny his the drum sticks togeter 4 times and we began playing as Billie Joe blaste dout the words.
After that was over Billie Joe gave me a great big hug and kiss and said, "Okay, now GET OFF MY STAGE!!" The crowed laughed, but I couldn't help it, I ran up to Tre and gave him a hug, then to Mike. Then I ran offstage back to Stevie, who was lauging so hard she was crying.
The rest of the concert was just so surreal, I still hadn't gotten over the fact that I had just played with Green Day and now had his guitar!! When they started playin Wake Me Up When September Ends, I was trying to hold back from crying so Stevie wouldn't laugh, but I looked at her, and she was crying, so I just let it go. We were both crying and when we saw each other crying, it made us laugh. We must of looked like the two biggest idiots.
