The next day I woke up. My eyes hurt so much. from crying almost non-stopped that night. I didn't dream anything at all. I kept waking up and crying though. My life was ruined, ruined, ruined. I didn't even know how to feel anymore. I got out of bed and looked at the time. 12:23 PM. Wow. I stood up and walked out of my room. I didn't really walk, I sauntered more like. I plunked myself down on the couch and lied down. I didn't really trade up. I went from a bed to a couch, but at least the couch had a TV. Maria came out from the kitchen.
"Oh Saidi." she said as she sat next to me. "Things are gonna get better, I promise. Okay? Things were meant to be hard." I started crying again.
"He just tore out my heart and left it broken and alone on the streets of Berkeley. I just don't understand why he did it! Why? I just keep asking myself why? And I can't come up with an answer that makes sense!" Maria put my head on her shoulder and patted it.
"Shh, everything is going to be okay. Okay?" she said quietly. "How about I take you to Chip 'n' Dales tonight to cheer you up?" I stopped crying for a minute and looked up at her almost disgusted at what she said.
"What!?" I said. She smiled.
"Chip 'n' Dales! There's sure to be tons of cute guys there wanting to... well you know." she said with a raised eye brow. I smiled and laughed with her. She got up and made a quick dinner (Chunky Campbell's Soup-Beef) and handed me a hot bowl of it.
"It's good." I said. "Considering it's out of a can." After we finished eat our "gourmet" dinner, Maria and I piled into her car and we drove to Chip 'n' Dales. She parked the car in the closed lot to the door and pushed me to the door.
"Oh, c'mon Saidi! Live a little!" she said.
"I dunno. This feels weird." I said. She pushed me through the door and made me sit down in a chair, even though I tried to get up again.
"STAY!" she ordered as she sat down next to me. Two really handsome guys walked over to us. They were dressed in police man outfits and were swinging whips.
"You two are under arrest for being so hot!" said one of them to Maria and I. Maria blushed and giggled, while I just sat there watching them. The other one walked over to me and circled me.
"Well, hello there." he said to me.
"Hi. How are you?" I asked. Maria hit me on the arm.
"No small talk! You are here to have fun!" she said sternly. I looked back at the guy circling me. He stopped in front of me and ripped his shirt off.
"OH! Wow!" I said surprised. He started to dance around me. I remember Maria giving me stuff to drink, more then likely alcohol, and I felt tipsy by the end of the night where Maria helped me to the car, laughing.
"Did you see that guy!? He was so HOT!" I exclaimed as she put me in the car. She did nothing but laugh at me. I was going crazy, I was laughing and talking about other guys as though Tre wasn't ever in my life.
"And did you see that OTHER guy? The one that gave me a lap dance? He was dead sexy!" I said as Maria drove us home. "I wrote my number on a $5 bill that I shoved into his thong!" Maria was taking a drink of her 7 UP and almost choked on it when I said this. I started to laugh at her. "Do you think he'll call me?"
"Oh yes Saidi! They always call their clients!" she said laughing and wiping her mouth. The ride home was filled with me saying stupid things about the guys there and talking about how I felt. I didn't mention one thing about Tre.
"Maria?! I think I'm drunk right now!" I said.
"Yeah I think so too! Let's get you home and into bed okay?" she asked through fits of laughter. After we made it home, Maria helped me inside and put me in my room. I changed clumsily into my pajamas and crawled into bed. I laughed myself to sleep that night. The first time since Tre cheated on me.
