Tripping Over Drum Sets, chapter 33
*At the reception*
After we went driving around honking, telling everyone that we were married, we all reported back to the community hall, which I had rented out for my wedding to Nick. But I wasn't going to let all that food and money and time go to waste! No sir-ee! I even had a DJ hired, so I was going to have my cake and eat it too! Do you KNOW how much that cake cost me!? I didn't think so. When every one made it, Tre and I had to stand at the door and greet everyone, giving them kisses and hugs and all that. After everyone sat down, we went to the main table. We had to get some more chairs to accommodate the additions to the wedding party. Then I remembered the cake!
"I'll be right back Sweet Heart." I whispered in Tre's ear, as I got up and walked to the kitchen. "Pierre!" I called. A chef appeared.
"Yes Madam?" he said.
"Could you change the name on the cake from 'Nick' to 'Tre'? Spelt T-R-E." I said smiling.
"Of course! I'm glad to hear what you did to that fucker." he said keeping a straight face. I on the other hand laughed, gave him a hug.
"Oh! And can you put a little accent thingy over the 'E' please?" I asked. He nodded and I left the kitchen before I got something on my dress. I ran back to the main table and sat next to Tre. He looked at me, smiled and pulled me in for a kiss.
"I love you Saidi." he whispered. I smiled and kissed him again.
"I love you too Tre." I said as some one started tapping on their glass with a fork. They called my mother up to do a speech. In fact, a lot of people came to do speeches. "I'm sorry your parents aren't here Tre." I said resting my chin on his shoulder. He looked down at me.
"I'm glad they're not here. I love them and all, but their speech would be baaaaaad. Telling stories about me and stuff. Gah. I don't even want to think about it." he said. Then Billie Joe got up to do a speech.
"I've known Tre a long time." he began. I looked at Tre. He just smiled and bowed his head.
"This is bad enough." he whispered to me.
"I remember when he brought Saidi home to us that one night." Billie Joe continued. "Boy that was a night to remember. He had met her on the plane coming back from a cousin's wedding, and she was coming down to Oakland to start her new life. So Tre brought her to the house, and we sat down for a game of truth or dare." The crowd laughed anticipating what was coming next. "I still gag when ever I see a pepper thanks to Saidi, and I'll never forget the dare of going into the pharmacy, and buying that pregnancy test. And I'm sure that none of us will forget when Tre and Saidi made out in the shower as a dare, when just meeting several hours prior. And I know that I won't forget Saidi running down the street naked. THAT was a present for all of us! But I'll never forget the bomb shelter, or the green mustang. The places we had the most fun ever! And that one shop, where Adi and Saidi, dressed up and did a strip tease for us."
The crowd bust out laughing, and I hung my head in embarrassment. But then I ended up laughing. "But I do know one thing. That even though Tre messed up in the past, and Saidi has been hurt far to many times, they are both strong, and Tre has managed to help Saidi recover and heal her emotional wounds, and now they have the chance to build an entire life together. Have kids, live in a new house, and build on the relationship that was forgotten 5 years ago. To Saidi and Tre, and their rekindled love!" said Billie Joe as he raised his glass for a toast. I saw a single tear roll down his cheek as well as Tre's. I looked over to Adi. She was crying her eyes out and dabbing away the tears trying not to ruin her make up. Everyone raised their glasses and took a sip of wine. Then Mike stood up.
"I too have known Tre forever! And met Saidi when he brought her home that one night, that we ended up playing truth or dare. I've watched Tre fuck up- oops I mean... mess up." said Mike. "Are there kids here?" he whispered to me. I nodded. He nodded back. "And I've watched Saidi get hurt. And I even watched her almost throw her life away almost marrying that prick- oops, I mean, erm... dude, Nick. And, well, there isn't much I can say 'cause Billie Joe said most of it. But once again, to Tre and Saidi. The two biggest love birds I've laid my eyes one!" said Mike raising his glass. Everyone once again raised their glasses. Adi then stood up still dabbing her eyes.
"I can't say much except that Saidi and I looked hot in our outfits and that we out did any stripper there ever was! To Saidi and Tre!" she said, raising her glass and once again (yes again) everyone raised their glass and took a sip of wine after they let out a little laugh. So after everyone had listened to the speeches, I announced that it was dinner time, and that everyone could get up and eat. So everyone got up, formed a line to the food table, and then sat back down to eat. Then Tre and I got up to cut the cake. When Tre saw his name and the little accent above the 'E', he looked over to me and kissed me, mouthing, 'You knew.' I gave him a look back saying, 'Of course I did!' So after everyone got a piece of cake, we cleared the tables, and the DJ started the music.
"So of course, at every wedding, the bride and groom get the first dance! And this song was chosen by the groom!" said the DJ as he put on a song.

"You have no idea." he whispered back as he placed a kiss on my head and I felt a tear escape from my left eye and slowly roll down my cheek until it stopped. I didn't bother to wipe it away. I didn't want to ruin this moment by worrying about a tear.

Tre smiled and looked down at his feet and when he looked back up at me, I saw tears in his eyes, rolling down his cheeks. "Don't cry Tre. I love you, and nothing is going to change that. I forgive you for everything you've done. Please, let's put that behind us and get on with our lives." I whispered kissing him. He nodded and we walked off the dance floor and sat down.
The rest of the night was the best I've ever had. There was dancing and kissing, and hugging and crying. So at about 3 in the morning, I went back to the hotel with Tre, Billie Joe, Adi, Joey, Mike, and Frank. When we made it to Billie Joe and Adi's room, and Mike and Tre's room. We stopped.
"Since this IS your wedding night. We all know what's going to happen, and I don't want poor little Frank watching what goes on between 'mommy' and 'daddy' so I'll take him, and he can stay in my room." said Mike winking at Tre.
"Good night Mike. And Frank, and Billie Joe, and Adi, and Joey!" I said kissing each of them.
"Night guys." said Tre smiling evilly. We went back up to my apartment, locked the door, turned the lights down low, and pretty much tore each other's clothes off and started making out in the most violent manner. And, I'm sure you get the idea of what happened next. NO! I'm not going to go into detail! I'm a lady! Okay, fine. He banged me until no end. When we finally finished, it was probably about an hour until sun rise.
