To The End, chapter 3
WHY DO YOU WANT HIM?
A lot had happened in the short space of 2 weeks. Tre was going to stay with Billie Joe for a while since his parents were getting a divorce (Not true in real life, I know) and it was just a bad time for him to be at home.
Another thing was that Sweet Children was getting to be a really big thing. Mike and Billie Joe both knew that John was acting weird, like he was hiding something, and they were determined to find out what that something was.
Billie Joe was spending most of his time at Mike's house. Getting high and practicing their instuments, much to his mother's and Veronica's disaproval.
Now that you're all caught up, here's the story....
~*~*At Mike's house~*~*
"God damnit, Billie. I can't get this right!" Mike complained while trying to perfect the new bass line he and Billie Joe had been working on.
"It sounds great, Mike. Trust me," Billie Joe said, smirking at his friend's perfection.
"I still think it sounded better last night," Mike sighed, putting aside his bass and excepting the joint that Billie Joe had just rolled and passed to him.
The sat against the wall, bored, watching the smoke forming at Mike's bedroom ceiling. Billie Joe was the one to end the silence.
"So what do you think John's hiding?" Billie Joe asked him.
"That he's gay, and he wants to fuck one of us. How should I know?!"
"I was hoping he might have said something to you, I guess," Billie Joe shrugged.
"Nope, nothing. He better fucking tell us soon or I'm gonna kick his ass."
"I'll help you," Billie Joe laughed while standing up and streching.
"I better get home," Billie Joe said to Mike, passing him back the joint. "Mommy gonna worry?" Mike asked in a baby-ish voice. "Yeah, most likely," Billie Jor said, and walked out Mike's bedroom door and then out the front one.
~*~*Back at Billie Joe's house~*~*
Billie Joe walked through the door right before his mother was going to walk out. "Billie. Where have you been?"
"At Mike's," he answered simply and went to go watch Headbangers Ball.
His mom rolled her eyes and said, "Well I have a date, so I guess I'll be back later." "With who?" Billie Joe asked, annoyed since he knew no one, no one, would ever replace his dad. "Rob. Don't you remember him?"
"Oh, yeah," Billie remarked. "The asshole." "Don't say that, Billie." she said hurridly. "He's here. I'll be back later."
"Yeah, whatever," he called out just before the door slamed.
Billie Joe got out his notebook and began writing:
~*~*
I saw you standing alone.
With that sad look on your face.
You call him on the phone.
Looks like he left you without a trace.
Tears falling out of your eyes
He's living in a disguise.
You've been feeling bad for so long.
You wonder if it's right or wrong.
~*~*
He decided he'd finish later. 'Need's a title' he thought. It was obviously about Rob. Hmmmm.... 'Why does she want him?' Billie thought to himself. Then it hit him. He wrote at the top of the page 'Why do you want him?' and closed the notebook. Maybe he could make it a song someday.
