To The End, chapter 5

'S' IS FOR 'SUICIDE'

Hmm... Does the title of this part have you wondering? Hope so. Here's the story....

It was just another night in the Armstrong household. Same Ollie and Rob watching TV in the living room, same Sweet Children playing in the garage, and the same Veronica and Tre cheering for them. Every thing was just the same, but it wouldn't stay that way....

Ollie and Rob had gone out for the night, and Tre, Veronica, and Billie Joe had just returned from a late night trip to the mall.

The group walked up the sidewalk, disscusing what the playlist would be for the next gig at Gilman Street. Billie Joe walked ahead of Veronica and Tre so that he could get the door open, but to his surprise, it was unlocked.

Billie, even though a little worried about what was going on, opened the door and stepped inside. He could see a dim light on in the kitchen, but stood still in the doorway. He motioned for Veronica and Tre to come, but also be quiet.

The two hurried up the path and into the house, Tre tripping on one of the porch steps as he did so, and into the house next to Billie.

"What the fuck's going on?" Tre whispered in Billie's ear.

Before he could answer, they heard a voice in the kitchen. It called out," Who's there?" but it wasn't a frightning voice.

"Dad!" Tre called as he ran to the kitchen.
"Oh, Frank. There you are."
"How'd you get in?"
"Ollie gave us an extra key, just in case."

Billie and Veronica walked in looking slightly confused. Well, wouldn't you be confused if your best friends dad was in your kitchen when you got back from the mall at 9 at night?

"What's up, Mr. Wright," Billie asked him while taking a seat at the table.
"Nothing good, Billie. Nothing good."
"What happened, dad? Where's mom? Is she OK?"
"I'm afraid not, son. Take a seat."

Tre, of course worried about what the fuck had happened to his mom, quickly took a seat next to Billie at the table, while Veronica preffred to stand. "Now, Frank," Mr. Wright began, glancing back and forth from his son to his son's best friends. "This will come as a big shock to you," he continued," And don't think that just because your mother and I were going to get a divorce that I don't care about her. We would still be friends, but we just got in to many fights and we just didn't love eachother. People fall in and out of love all the time. We just have to accept that." "DAD! HURRY THE FUCK UP! WHAT THE HELL'S WRONG WITH MOM?!"

Mr. Wright was taken aback, but continued after telling his son to try to stop swearing (Ha, ha. Like that'll ever happen!). "But anyways, your mother was found in our bedroom with *sob* a.... a gun in her hand." "SHE FUCKING KILLED HERSELF?! MY OWN MOM?! THE ONE THAT WAS SO FUCKING HAPPY ALL THE GOD DAMN TIME?!"

And that's when Tre broke down. He began sobbing uncontrolably into Billie's shoulder. "Son, please. It'll be OK. Just look at Bill, here. He lost his father when he was 10. He's alright now. You'll never be the same entirly, but you will get better. I'm not saying that it isn't sad, it is. It's really a shame that such a beutiful woman would do something so terrible to herself." "Dad, just go. I just wanna be alone."

And with that, Tre broke from Billie's tight, comforting embrace, and rushed up the stairs to his and Billie's room.
