Strange Things Are Happening, chapter 11
The three watched in dread as the people descended upon their bus. All at once, they started beating on the sides of the bus.
A window broke.
More force was being put into the punches on the bus.
Another window broke.
Billie, Mike, and Tre huddled together, none of them knowing what to do.
Finally Tre broke from the pack, and ran to the driving area.
Billie and Mike followed.
"Tre... What are you doing?" asked Mike.
"I'm getting us out of here!" he yelled and started to open the driver side door.
"Tre! Don't open the door! They'll get in!" yelled Billie.
Too late, Tre opened the door, and pushed the driver out.
Then, he sat in the seat, and closed the door.
Billie went over to him, "Tre! That was dumb! One of those things could have got you."
"Shut up! I knew they wouldn't. Just calm... "
Tre didn't have time to finish. One of the people broke the window to the driver's door and grabbed Tre around the neck and started pulling him out the window.
Mike grabbed for Tre, and tried to pull him back.
"Billie! Help me!" yelled Mike.
Suddenly, the person grabbed hold of Tre's neck and broke it, killing him instantly. Then with a strong jerk, the person pulled him out of the window.
Mike stood there stunned. Then, he remembered that Billie didn't try to help. He turned around. There stood another person, the girl who had warned them, with a piece of Billie's eyeball in her mouth.
Billie lay on the floor.
