Strange Things Are Happening, chapter 17
"No you won't," laughed Billie Joe, "because you know I could take you!"
Mike just laughed as he walked back to the bunk area. After a few minutes, Tre and Billie could hear him snoring.
"What do you think that was all about?" asked Tre, still holding his nose, now with a napkin soaked in blood.
"I don't know, man," Billie replied, "Just a strange dream, I guess."
Tre wasn't satisfied. Mike never has dreams where he screams and then punches someone.
"Maybe he just had too much adrenaline left over... " thought Tre.
After all, Green Day wasn't able to perform the last few songs because of Billie breaking and/or losing his guitars. He was also surprised that Jason didn't have an extra guitar. Tre thought that it was probably because all the guitars were kept together.
"Oh well," thought Tre, "Every show can't always be perfect... "
It was then that Tre realized he was the only one in the room.
"Billie, where did you go?"
"Shhh... I'm in here," whispered Billie Joe from the back of the bunk area.
Tre walked back, and found Billie watching the sleeping Mike. Billie motioned for Tre to come over.
As Tre got closer to Mike, he could hear his faint whispers. Tre stayed where he was.
"The last time I went near him while he was sleeping and talking, I got punched," whispered Tre.
"He's not having a nightmare, seriously, come and listen."
Tre moved closer and snickered as Mike mumbled about Green Day winning more Grammy's than they knew what to do with.
What Mike said next, however, was something that Tre did not want to hear.
"Tre, you're next. You are next. Please be careful."
