Strange Things Are Happening, chapter 18
It was ending like any other day. The air was warm, the sky was getting dark, the sun was setting, and the Green Day tour bus was reeking of alcohol.
Nobody was drunk, it was just that Tre kept trying to pour himself a drink and kept missing the glass.
Billie Joe sat and watched his friend spilling the Tequila all over the place. Then, he got up and went over to Tre.
"Tre, here, let me help," said Billie Joe.
Tre took a few steps back and let Billie pour the drink. What Mike had said really scared him.
"What did he mean, 'You're next?'" Tre wondered to himself.
Billie looked over at Tre and said, "Tre, don't worry about it. Mike was asleep. He always says weird things in his sleep."
"Yeah, but not for me to be careful because I'm next... What the hell is that supposed to mean anyway?"
"I don't know," replied Billie, "At least he didn't dream you had a dream about a weird alien thing and a head talking to you."
"I would've rather had that. At least then I wouldn't have to worry about something getting me."
Billie Joe laughed and handed the drink to Tre, "Nothing is going to get you, man. It was probably just another weird dream that Mike was having."
"Maybe, but then again, Mike doesn't have those kinds of weird dreams."
Billie shrugged, "Maybe he ate something weird... I don't know, but I wouldn't worry about it."
"Easier said than done... But how would you feel, Billie, if Mike said something like that to you? Wouldn't you be a little bit nervous?"
"No," replied Billie Joe, "I don't think I would be worried about it at all. It's just a stupid dream, Tre."
Tre didn't say anything else. He just started drinking his Tequila, losing himself in his own thoughts.
"Billie's wrong," he thought, "He would too be nervous. He's just trying to calm me down."
Billie Joe watched Tre, and could still see that he was alarmed.
"Tre," Billie started, "Nothing will get you, except for maybe your own fear."
Tre remained quiet.
"Besides," continued Billie, "What could get you on a moving bus?"
Tre started to nod his head, but fell forward as the bus hit something and was skidding to a halt...
