Strange Things Are Happening, chapter 25
Tre's eyes snapped open as he sat up in his hotel bed.
"Tre... "
He jumped and looked next to him. There sat Jessica, with the sheets wrapped around her body.
"Jessica?"
"I'm surprised you remembered my name," she chuckled softly.
Tre began to panic.
"What is going on here?!? Is this real? Is it another dream? What's going to happen? Why is Jessica in my bed? Did we... Oh God! We did!" Tre thought in his head.
Jessica was still talking. She was in the works of a great speech about how good Tre is to her, but how she really to needs to leave.
Tre interrupted her, "Are you a cop?"
"What? Yeah... " she answered, "Why?"
Tre got out of bed and started looking for his clothes. Jessica sighed and turned on the television. It was on the morning news.
Tre barely paid attention as the reporter spoke her story of the teenager reported missing. Tre glanced over at the television and froze. The picture of the girl was on the screen. It was the girl that was found dead.
The reporter continued on, "The girl was last seen in a black Green Day shirt and a pair of blue jeans. If you have any information... "
"She's dead," mumbled Tre.
"What?" asked Jessica.
Tre didn't explain. Instead, he walked over to Billie's room to talk to him. He saw that Billie door was open, so he let himself in. He hardly paid attention to Joey as he was telling Jakob a ghost story, but as Joey got to the end of the story, he snapped around and listened.
"The alien pointed the pen like laser at the young boy. A red light shot out from it... Then... BOOM!"
Jakob jumped and laughed. Tre about shit himself. He decided that listening to Billie Joe's sons was not a good idea. He looked around for Billie Joe, but couldn't find him.
"Joey," Tre started, "Where's your dad?"
Almost like magic, Billie Joe came in the room, yelling at someone on his cell phone.
"Listen to me, ma'am! I NEED those guitars, NOW!" he yelled.
Billie Joe looked at Tre and mouthed that the airline had misplaced his and Jason's guitars. Tre turned white. Billie Joe hung up his cell phone.
"What's wrong, Tre?"
Tre didn't say anything; he walked out, and grimaced as he heard Jakob telling Joey a ghost story about zombies eating someone's eye. Tre found the tour manager in the hallway.
"What city are we in?" he asked.
"Milwaukee," the tour manager replied.
Tre was on the verge of a panic attack. His heart was pounding in his chest. His brain was overloading with nightmarish images. His eyes were fluttering.
Billie Joe and Mike came out into the hallway and looked at Tre.
"Tre, what's wrong?" they both asked with concerned looks.
Tre looked at them, slowly, with sweat sliding down his face, "Strange things are happening."
The End.
