Thelma and Louise, chapter 4
I woke up to the movement of the bus, thankfully not the sun that could barely be seen from by drawn curtains on my bunk. Slowly I rolled out of bed, putting on my discarded boots that lay next to the bunk and smoothing out my somewhat rumpled skirt and shirt. The faint sounds of "Blue and Yellow" coming from the back of the bus intrigued me, as someone else was singing along, and I started to sing with both the CD and the mystery person.
"Should have done something/But I've done it enough/By the way your hands were shaking/Rather waste some time with you..."
The curtain separating me from the back of the moving bus parted to reveal Frankie and Frank (my heart was beating a bit faster now), who were both looking at me. "Nice of you to wake up, Sleeping Beauty," Frankie joked, giggling slightly, twirling the tab of a Diet Coke in her fingers, the can in her other hand. She shared a look with Frank, then they both turned back to me and giggled together. I realized that I probably looked like crap and one hand went up to ruffle my hair a bit.
That's when I realized that my hair was pretty short.
In fact, about Frankie's length.
My mouth opened wide, and I looked from Frankie to Frank, who were giggling louder, and then that's when I saw it: the pair of black scissors that were laying on the counter, and the trashcan filled with my hair. "What...the hell...?" Not that I was complaining, I really liked Frankie's Quinn-esque crop, but they should have asked me! "Why didn't you ask beforehand?" I said, one hand still in midair slightly feeling my new haircut.
"We did," Frank said, shifting in his seat slightly and taking a sip of his foam-cupped coffee. "But you were only half-concious, and said, "Mrrrghthd" and we took it for a yes. Besides, you look pretty still." The last comment, I'm afraid, made me blush heavily. I smiled, and looked down at my feet. He gave me a small smile, which was uberadorable, then returned to singing. It was him! We were singing together and didn't even know it.
"Hey, Nicole! If you want some duds, my stuff's in the closet right there, and you can change in that bathroom," Frankie said, getting up and pointing to a door and another door. "And about Frank being on the bus...well, he made the decision to be our 'supervision'..."At this, she sighed, but then her eyes glittered and she lowered her voice to a whisper. "Actually...he wanted to be on the bus when you woke up. But don't say anything." It wasn't odd that I thought that Frank might have a crush on me, it was the way Frankie said it: with an almost jealous look on her face. But the look was gone as soon as someone broke the small silence held between me and her.
"Secrets aren't good!" Frank protested from the next room.
"Whatever, unless you want to hear about my 'time of month', then I'll speak louder!" Frankie retorted, grinning at his mumbled response and the clinking of dishes in the sink.
I nodded, and then she sauntered off, her hair so similar to mine softly moving, and that's when I noticed it: her tattoo. Besides the black star on her hand, she had a pair of angel wings on her back, visible from her black sleep tank's low backline. She was just like an angel, offering me shelter when I didn't even ask...I smiled warmly at her retreating figure, then rummaged through the closet to find a pair of semi-tight jeans with a couple of rips in them, and an Adeline Records white tank top. I also found a plain black zip hoodie and a pair of barely-used checkered Vans. Taking my finds into the bathroom, I checked out my hair, which still had the colors in it, and then undressed, threading my studded belt through the jeans. As I was changing, I felt the bus stop and Frankie's voice calling to Frank something that I couldn't decipher.
Hey, I thought to myself as I put the hoodie on, I actually like my new hair. After going to my bunk and finding my purse and applying my eyeliner and shadow, I placed my now-folded clothes on my bed and went into the dining area on the bus.
Frank was the only one in there, strumming a black acoustic/electric guitar, and was softly singing, only looking up when he saw me enter. His eyes widened a bit as he got up, placing his guitar down and walking over to me, a bit of an incredulous smile on his face. "Wow...you look like Frankie. But...a prettier Frankie. Don't tell her I said that," he added, with a wink.
I blushed, placing my hands in my hoodie pockets and looking up into his eyes. God, they were gorgeous. I wanted so badly to just grab his face and kiss him, but I restrained myself. "Thanks," I said, grinning instead. "And you don't look bad yourself today."
He grinned and blushed, looking down at his own attire: a white oxford with the sleeves rolled up to expose his tattooes, a pair of jeans with the shirt tucked in partially, and a pair of the exact same Vans I had on right now. "Great minds think alike, I guess," I said, noting his shoes. He looked down at his feet, then looked back up at me. "Yeah," he said, "I guess they do..."
"Why were you waiting on the bus?" I said, confronting him outright, and he looked up at me, because his vision was staring to drift downwards. He scratched his head, and opened his mouth to speak when Frankie re-boarded the bus, Gerard following behind her.
"You two lovebirds! We're eating now!" she said, pointing a finger at both of us accusingly, then smiling and twirling around to exit the bus, almost colliding with Gerard, who followed behind her like a shadow. We looked at eachother, then looked away, and I made to leave the bus when all of a sudden he said, "Wait."
I swiveled around to see that Frank wasn't where I had left him, but next to me. "What?" I said, my voice a breathy whisper. How did I make my voice do that? Frank looked into my eyes, then slowly cupped my face and kissed me.
Holy shit!
Frank Iero from My Chemical Romance is snogging me!
These were what was going through my head, along with fireworks and whatever else they say when apparently, you've met your soulmate. First it was just a kiss, then it deepened as his tongue found its way past my lips and teased mine. I ran my fingers through his hair and rested another hand in the middle of his shoulders.
After we parted, he looked at me and smiled softly. "I knew from the moment I walked through Billie Joe's dressing room door and laid eyes on you that something was gonna happen between us. I just knew it."
I smiled up into his eyes, those gorgeous eyes, and stroked the side of his face gently. "You're amazing..."I murmured. He looked away and blushed a bit, obviously pleased by my comment.
We made to kiss again, but then we were interrupted by...
