The Stupid Things We Do, chapter 11
Part 11
It's a week later and you're driving Adie home from the hospital. You've decided to stay with her for the last few weeks of the pregnancy. You are staying in Alicia's old room which you absolutely hate the idea of, but deal with it anyways.
"Sooo," Adrienne says after a long silence, "what do you wanna do first?"
"Well, I know that I want to watch TV, and I know that you want to have a piece of chocolate cake, so lets do your idea." You pull up in front of Adie's apartment building.
"You're smarter than you look Billie." She hops out of the car and stretched. "It's good to be home. No checkups every hour, no doctors pestering me, no nurses yelling at me for doing something bad and best of all NO hospital food!" Smiling, she leads the way up the stairs, leaving you to carry three bags and a purse. You roll your eyes at how much stuff she needed for a week. Women.
Maybe you shouldn't have suggested the chocolate cake because Adrienne is hyper. Really insanely hyper.
"Mmm that cake was good, but now I'm bored. Let's do something. Ooo you know what I haven't done in the longest time? Played Twister. Let's do that. Call Mike and Tré and we'll all play Twister." She was still babbling on as you left the room to call your apartment.
"Hello?" It's Mike.
"Hey Mike. You're not busy are you? Good. You and Tré better get your asses down to Adie's place right now. She wants to play Twister and if she doesn't do it soon, I'm afraid she'll explode."
"O... k... " he sounds a bit confused, "we'll see you in a few. Bye"
"Bye."
"Left hand red." Adie, Tré and you are on the mat, scrambling to find comfortable positions while Mike spins. You're lucky Tré wasn't spinning or he'd be running around taking black mail pictures and inventing new rules. It truly was a funny site to see. Three full-grown adults twisted and overlapping bodies struggling to keep themselves from falling. You could tell Mike was doing all he could to keep from laughing.
"Right hand blue." You twisted so you could reach a blue circle. You were now face to face with Tré and overtop of Adrienne; who was smiling and having the time of her life. Tré was grinning in the deranged mischievious way he used when he was about to do something stupid. You felt him push on your elbow and it gave out. You fell and brought Adie down with you. As Tré got up and did a victory dance, you looked back at Adie. She was still smiling broadly. She looked from Tré back to you, strait into your eyes. You don't know what made you do it, but you grabbed Adrienne and pulled her into a kiss.
